'Western' style?

I lack the music knowledge to accurate describe this. I've been very drawn to slide guitar, steel string twang, watch the sun set over the red canyons, like this, and pretty much every bit of guitar that got strummed in Firefly and Serenity.

I want more recommendations like it, and, if possible, suggestions for how to learn how to play it. Thanks.

I have just one suggestion: "Public Enemy" from the soundtrack to Starcraft 2.

Since they just got Spotify in the States, why don't you try listening to the entire Neil Young Anthology?

spotify:album:7KB2kvAO7bj7X6HRQmuZ4Q

Especially try the '71 Massey Hall recordings:

spotify:track:4TATdGLAItnKkkwv49GFCb

That second link is one of my favourite song recordings ever made.

Earth comes to mind. They used to be a drone metal band, but now they mostly play heavy spaghetti western-ish stuff.
