It's Time To Pretend by MGMT. In my opinion the singles are pretty good but some of the album seems to just be filler. Worth a listen though.

Thanks very much! From the bits I'd heard I'd never have guessed it was MGMT, so cheers!

I'm not going to read the quadrillion posts (actually they're just 240) that preceded this one just to make sure it hasn't been mentioned before, but there are some automated non-crowdsource tools available to identify songs now: Here you go. Hope that helps.

This is so vague, I will be amazed if anyone can figure it out, but..

The song is from the 70's or later, it's reminiscent of "Take On Me", the band has been described as a one hit wonder, the song uses the word "love" a lot, and it's lyrics are highly repetitive.

Yeah. It's J.S. Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor and is on of the best bits of organ music out there. The wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toccata_and_Fugue_in_D_minor,_BWV_565) links to afree download on some organ forum if you want it.

If you like that, have you heard Widor's Toccata?

Does anybody happen to know the name of the song that's in the Heineken commercial (Australia, not sure about anywhere else but I'm pretty sure it'd be in England too seeing the sport in it is soccer, not AFL). It's got a woman singing, and I picture it being a black woman with an afro, as in that sort of voice? Like it sounds really good. It say's "I'm tired" in the chorus but that's all I could make out. And at the end of the ad it goes "for important meetings, like tonight's game". Anyway I'm tempted to invite a friend over just so I can use their iPhone app.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found the song. It's "Tired" by Adele.

Sounds like "Lazy Brain," their parody of "Crazy Train."

Lacrimosa Dominae (weeping of the lord) by Trailerhead. You know, I was so sure that this was Lacrymosa by Mozart. I thought no way was this made in the past two hundred years...but it was. Preliator by Globus is pretty much the same song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5q6skxRL ... re=related

This one's very ambiguous, I've got no name/lyrics/artist to help you. I've got a clip from a Hard-Fi song, basically the first 3 seconds of this video are the same as part of the song I'm trying to work out. I've seen a few dance routines that use this music, but I've never worked out what it is. cheers in advance

I'm trying to remember a song by what I believe was a British rap artist. The part of the lyrics that stick out the most was a bit where he said something to the effect of, "Just because an adult man enjoys children does not make him a paedophile." I seem to remember the whole song correcting people's ignorant behaviors.

Was he black? What era of rap music?

The only British rapper I can think of is Slick Rick.

Assuming the line is "Thou shalt not think that any male over the age of 30 that plays with a child that is not their own is a paedophile... some people are just nice" the song would be Thou Shalt Always Kill (Youtube link) by Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip. The whole of their Angles album is rather good if you feel the urge to listen to more.

I was watching the Olympics ice dancing, they had the compulsory dance section on tonight. The theme was tango. There were only three or four songs that the competitors danced to, so naturally they got repeated over and over. There is one in particular that is now stuck in my head, and I was wondering if anyone knows what it's called. It's the same one that's in this video. Thanks in advance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkaJW9XF5Gg

My first reaction was this was too vague for me to know but then I thought a bit longer and...could it be Opheliac by Emilie Autumn? Or possibly something else by her. Not really what I'd call techno but thought it was worth suggesting at least (could have been a remix as well I suppose).

I think this is probably a pretty slim chance, but I'm going to try anyway. I heard this song playing on the PA when I was in Ollies the other day, what I gathered was it was the singer telling people not feel bad for him for being alone because of all this great stuff he can do, but the stuff is actually kind of depressing. I think there's something in there about getting drunk and watching captain kangaroo. They style was that kind of 50s era country music, not like hill-billy country music or modern country music but more like, I don't know, I'm imagining a guy with an acoustic in a suit and bolo or something. Odd description I know but it's all I can come up with.

A bit of Googlin' suggests that this might be Flowers on the Wall (Wikipedia), originally by The Statler Brothers (Youtube) and covered vaguely recently by Eric Heatherly (Youtube).

Searched for "captain kangaroo lyrics" as that was the only bit I thought would actually be in the song and went from there to find links. I'm guessing you were overcomplicating your search terms with bits half remembered? Glad to help anyway :)

I have two I'm trying to figure out.

The first one was big in the 90s. It was hardish pop rock, and a lot of the lines ended in "-ation". Bill Nye spoofed it at one point.
I still hear it in the mall sometimes.

The second one is by a possibly canadian boy/girl indie duo. The music video has everybody turn into zombies, and then they kiss at the end. and the girl has shortish hair.

Any help is ridiculously appreciated.
