I take a mathematical function and run it on each number from a set of four consecutive integers. Unfortunately the universe is being particularly hostile today, and returns the output as four images that crudely represent each of the four answers.

If you think you know the function I used, describe or suggest images that could fit immediately before and after the four I have.
