Spoiler:
He stood on a block of ice and waited for it to melt.
Bad choice - he'd slowly die of strangulation instead of breaking his neck.

There are lots of solutions from the limited information given
Spoiler:
The family of solutions where he climbed on a non melting object which, because the floor was wet, slipped all the way out of the room when he kicked it out from under him
The family of solutions that involve holes in the ceiling, floor, wall allowing the means of escalation to escape
The family of solutions that involve third parties (assisted suicide/murder/unwitting accomplice/accident)

Then there's the maglev leaking coolant since no rope or beam is in the room for the man to hang himself in the traditional sense.

The puzzle is poorly framed.
