Using Thin Client/VMs for AV System Computers

Postby Apeiron » Tue Dec 16, 2014 4:31 pm UTC

My employer has many conference rooms with AV equipment and a PC in each. Yesterday I spent several hours running updates on just one of these PCs.

Would it be possible to replace the PCs with a Thin Client that boots a centrally managed VM/Image? That way we could just run the updates on the VM/Image (not sure which applies here), keeping all the AV PCs up to date at once.

Have any of you experience with such things? What worked?

Before getting exotic... what's wrong with WSUS?
First Strike +1/+1 and Indestructible.

Who said anything was wrong with WSUS? Or anything about it at all? Did you reply to the wrong thread or are there replies I can't see?
