VPS Uses

So, I do IT for a small business (we run a few stores around town) and we're thinking of upgrading our hosting from shared to VPS. While I think it would be a good investment simply in anticipation of increased web traffic, management may not be so easy to convince. I'd like to try to find some features or applications(eg, streaming video) that might seem appealing for them (or marketing) we might want but that we can't do now, in order to make a VPS more appealing.

Any advice?
