Bubble/Boba Tea Recipe

Postby sardia » Wed Jan 14, 2015 5:48 am UTC

Has anyone tried making it? My friend made some for me, and asked me for pointers. I only told him to ease up on the ice, and cook down his sugar into simple syrup.

His recipe roughly:
Oolong tea
Creamer
Simple syrup
Ice
tapioca balls
Mix tea, creamer, syrup, and ice. Spoon in tapioca balls(boil the balls first).

It was kind of watery the first time, so he wants to try again soon. Any thoughts?

Most of those drinks use sweetened condensed milk, which acts as a thickener.
Don’t become a well-rounded person. Well rounded people are smooth and dull. Become a thoroughly spiky person. Grow spikes from every angle. Stick in their throats like a puffer fish.

Thanks, we'll probably try again after he finishes a crash course in bubble tea making. Apparently it's a popular niche market.
