night baking! or rather I baked a pie crust a couple nights ago* and tried to make some berry, chiffon pie filling to put in it.

Thepictures looked really nice. I did some things wrong, the meringue was the consistency of latte foam, but it set up okay. Using too much gelatin helped with that, probably. It probably would have gone a lot faster if I had used the blender and a hand mixer instead of trying to mash fruit through a sieve, and using an egg beater.

I like egg beaters. I'm not sure if I like chiffon pie.



*I made chicken pot pie for a dinner last week, and wanted to test the crust I was making to see if i had it right**
**I usually use all crisco, but this time I didn't have enough crisco and used 1/2 a cup butter, forgot that would make the dough softer in my 80 degree kitchen and didn't add enough water

Do you make your own paneer? I've done that once, it turned out decent.
