What should I do with them? So far, I have made an arugula salad with walnuts, goat cheese, and figs, and also made a whole wheat bagel sandwich with stewed figs/chunky fig jam, ham, and...goat cheese. I've found a lot of recipes, but any favorites would be appreciated. This is really my first experience with fresh figs, aside from one misguided purchase of not-very-good fresh figs from the grocery store.

Something salty? Like a tarte tartin, my answer to almost anything when I have extra fruit. Salty puff pastry goes well with the sweetness of figs.

I tend to just eat them with ricotta and a little honey as suggested inna Jamie Oliver book. I'm sure there are loads of other awesome ways; I just haven't got around to trying any.

Reading this thread right before lunch was a really bad idea...

I think we are missing a really important thread here. The Food Pr0n recipe thread...

I read this entire thread on the bus ride home.

After skipping lunch.

That was not a well thought out decision.

Ah, my wife, the photographer. Posts three pictures of the same thing with slight differences in framing, exposure, and zoom.

Sarah's uncle caught the salmon on Thursday or Friday; the squash and eggplant are from our garden.

So. Incredibly. Good.

Today, I made tofu à la college student: throw an onion, tofu and some random vegetables (apple and tomato in this case) in a pan, fry and season. I thought it looked delicious, so I took a picture, but I have to say it kind of pales in comparison to Bakemaster’s and PictureSarah’s food porn.

Oh boy, this is not what I want to look at in the morning when lunchtime is yet to come
These photos are gorgeous, I wish I could cook something like that. Unfortunately the most complicated meal I can cook is pizza from the nearby Pizza Hut
