In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.

Indeed.

It was supposed to be "When you see it you'll go Awwwww!" ...

but the cat was giving me such an evil look that it was closer to "When you see it you'll freak" than to being a parody thereof.

Well, I just finished going through those albums and uploading the cropped and scaled images. Cheers, everyone!

That was such a tedious pita I'm considering not taking the camera on my next trip at all.

Waxing gibbous, so the left edge ought to be dark. 3 got the red colour but 1 and 4 got the surface detail.

It is a beautifully clear night and my fingertips hurt from handling the bare aluminium tripod.

I was hoping to see the Andromeda galaxy in some pictures, but it's not easy to aim the camera nearly straight up on a tripod.

Couldn't find my good tripod and there was too much cirrostratus to get a really good photo of the moon, so fuck it.

It started out cloudy here, but thin enough cloud to be able to see the curve of the shadow's edge, then that cleared and it became a beautiful night.

A beautiful, cloudless, January 4am. I'm not convinced I've warmed up yet.

Two sets of batteries down and the third wouldn't supply the power to take stills, so I have a series of video clips instead. Gave them an hour of charge and went back out to get the curved shadow edge on the other side too.

120mm is best i can do...i think i need something better for the sky one of these days...the non smushed shows the stars around it but this upload looks rather dark unless you click on it. This was during the full eclipse i just left it exposed longer to get the red and the highlight on the edge
