Writing the PhD thesis as "Thing Explainer"

Postby lipevampi » Thu Feb 04, 2016 3:28 pm UTC

First I wanna say that the Thing explainer book is great!. Really amazing idea. When looking at the book with my labmates
it occured to us to write our PhD thesis as the Thing explainer was written. Unfortunately we are not cartoonists just biologists working on cancer biology...
any suggestions on how to start with?

Thanks in Advance!

Best wishes

Andres

You might also try this tool:

http://learnthesewordsfirst.com/WordFindingTool.html

It's like Simple Writer, but the words you type are listed in three groups:

1. The most simple 360 words in black. (Click each word to go to an illustration or explanation.)

2. The most common 2000 words in blue. (Click each word to go to its definition in the Learn These Word First dictionary.)

3. All other words in red. (Click each word to look it up in the Longman English Dictionary Online.)

Every word is explained in simpler terms without circular definitions.
