The scarecrows sing a sonnet of the damned,
Their weary voices scream, they shout, they cry.
Lament for lack of mouths and hearts and hands,
They beg to god to let their damned souls die.
Their song is silent to our human ears,
But heard by birds from far and all around.
Within them it provokes a primal fear,
To that tune they refuse to take the ground.
The scarecrows... Oh their work is never done!
They'll serve their masters 'till their final day.
They'll stand in fields, baking in the sun,
Until their bodies give in to decay.
The scarecrows sing a sonnet of the damned,
Their silent voices heard throughout the land.

Spoiler:
I'm only 15, so this might be terrible. :P

Dogs

They take her back legs, and pull her back,
Rip her soft white fur from her velvet skin.
She howls, they persist to carve shapes on her back,
Then let her go, now groomed and trimmed.

She staggers away, embarrassed and nude,
Bare legs exposed to the ice cold wind.
Though hairless and thin, she is “beautiful”,
For she's hairless and thin.

Time slows down,
The ball begins to fly,
Bottom right corner
Even before the ball is shot,
He knows where it is,
Bottom right corner
Swift as an arrow,
The ball moves through the air,
Bottom right corner
Swift as an eagle,
The goalie is there,
Bottom right corner

I woke with my eyes throbbing in my head and skin stretched too tight across my body.
I took my eyes apart and dissembled rods and cones, put them in their little boxes.
Peeled my skin away and hung it neatly in a closet
Where I stored the organs I'd outgrown
years ago
I took a tumor from my chest
It had grown and grown
Robbed my breath
It weighed me down at night, I thought everyone could see it.
So I unhinged my ribs and cranked them apart with a pulley
Pulled it out and hung it up
On a meat hook, in the closet

It was enormous.

I hooked up a cheap plastic pump
And now it doesn't hurt.
But neither does anything else.

Unoriginal, BUT IT RHYMES. :P

http://www.xkcd.com/505/

The infinite desert stretches on
There’s never a change, dusk or dawn
I never feel hungry or thirsty here
I’ve forgotten the feeling of pain and fear

I’ve done some major contemplation
Over several generations
Drawing miles of schematics
Rederiving mathematics

I hacked through relativity
From math to physics to chemistry
At last I understood everything
And finally felt boredom’s sting

Trillions of trillions of eons passed
Then one day I found my purpose at last
I started laying rows of stones
To simulate everything I’ve ever known

It took millennium to model an atom
An amount of time you just can’t fathom
But here in this magical desert place
I have infinite time and space

So I decided to model it all
Though it actually started off pretty small
The beginning of time, at least for some
And with a big bang, a god I become

Terrible poetry! Rushed this piece.

Quench my thirst for a friend and his transparent life
A voice to remember and a face to remind
To feel his emotions, to think of his thoughts
And I will understand more about him and his life

A chair to lean upon and a bed to sleep
One who offers rest all while my eyes can see
Who'll stay during the rough and the tussle and the current
Who'll fight to the end of this battle as we know it

A friend to call and talk to in the middle of the night
And yet he's still asking what took me so long tonight
Someone who I'll talk to make everything alright
Who'll be there when my hearing's worn and when I'm out of sight

A friend whom I can trust with confiding my secrets
To go wherever I go every single little moment
To walk right beside me as we discover about life
And I'll remember him because he brought me a light

And when I'm old and worn when my body starts to decay
He will still be there telling me everything's OK
And when I go away and then I leave him behind
I hope he shall remember me for my legacy in his life

It doesn't suck. I enjoyed the meter very much, and the rhymes were great too! I find that's what I enjoy most in poetry is a consistent, challenging meter, both in writing and reading.

I can't find my notebook right now so here's one I have stored on my computer.

Songs of Jupiter and Mars
A billion billion points of light
Come out to guide me home at night,
Assure me, all will be alright,
Those natural angels, stars.

I wonder, if I swam among them
If I spoke with they who hung them
Would they mind it if I sung them
Songs of Jupiter and Mars?

Or maybe, some of mine own world,
Of hist’ry’s tapestry unfurled
Of peace and war and more a-curled
On this one mote of dust

Our pale blue dot, our golden spot,
Of heroes, villains, long forgot,
Their greatest conquests left to rot
Their treasures left to rust

You're so beautiful when you sleep
Breathing comes easily, dreaming a mystery
Falling through space as planets collide
Running in place as panic subsides

You're so beautiful when you sleep
Starlight reveals to me your sweet inner symphony
I found a lover who knows me by name
And I see my reflection in the smile on your face

You're so beautiful when you sleep
Hidden from everyone who won't give you anything
People are awful but don't pay them mind
You're held all together with more than just twine

You're so beautiful when you sleep...

This one goes out to all the emo kids (is emo still a thing?):

The one thing in your life
that you did right
is that I'm nothing like
either of you
We're just strangers

Bludolph the blue nosed reindeer
had a very radioactive nose,
And if you ever saw it
You would probably get exposed

All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names,
They never let poor Bludolph
Join in any reindeer games

Then one foggy Christmas eve
Santa came to say
"Bludolph with all this fog about,
Cherentov radiation is coming from your snout!"

Then all the reindeer feared him
As they shouted out in glee,
Bludolph the beta emitting reindeer
You'll soon be history!

Wow, some of these are really good. I was actually feeling a little self conscious about this poem, but It would be worth some feedback. So here goes nothing, I don't really understand poetic meter, I just do what sounds good in my mind.

On some dreary and listless day,
my eyes will wander to the window
to look out on what lies beyond.

A strip of water extends across the scene.
Both ends hidden from view, and winds
make waves that flow off towards the distance.

In my mind a saw a river, carrying the melt
and rain down the valley, where greater
streams flow their way to lands below.

A pleasant bliss, in this passing moment;
water calmly slipping by into the wider world;
a ceaseless cycle, from sky, to earth, to sea.

But then it dawned on me, that the river
was in fact a pond, water sitting, unchanged
in its long narrow bed; a lonely depression in the earth.

And then my spirit fell, for there was no connection
or passage to the wider world. Nothing changes,
no wonder to look up and down its banks or
new sights to ponder, bobbing in the current.

My thoughts again turned foul: all joy for then was lost.
I was just as that pond, the murky water building up,
and no lovely stream to clear the way.

Poems are stupid,
mere illusions of beauty.
But we still love them.

Effort.
A poem
About happiness
With four lines
And less than
Twenty words
Gets more
Attention
Than
A thousand word poem
About lying
And grief.

Water
Drip. Drip. Drip. Drip
Drip. Drip.
I know that play.
I know that song,
That little number
One I heard four,
Five million
Years ago.
It's The very first,
Beats, rhythms ryhmes,
Leaking slowly
From the cavern,
And From the cracks
We hear a tiny drip.
It's Beginning.
A tap on grass,
Earth, or stone. Alone.
There is Just one,
As I am now,
So long ago,
A single
Little
Drip.
A
Single
Tap
A
Single
Beat.
Drip. Drip. Drip. Drip.
Drip.
Drip.

Tora.
Tora! Tora!
Find me where the grass grows
Under the tree,
The One,
Of chestnuts,
and Mistletoe Bushes,
so I may love you
face to face.

For I am not sorry when the singing becomes silence
But I have nothing to fear of curses
Since I am not free yet of the frantic world

.....This is deep. I like your style of composing lines. Keep up!
