Hee, if you scan up and down they are wavy. Optical illusions are fun! Optical allusions, slightly less so.

FYI, this is one of the most intriguing typs of illusions I've seen--here's some more information:

And in case you want to try it and don't like reading a lot, the key is the variation between "white light black dark" (general idea is that white/black are separated), and tends to move in this direction. Reversing often makes the wavy effects, and helps create "breaks" which avoid other patterns that can cushion the effect, but it's quite possible to make things move the same direction as well.

I'd love to see other original peripheral drift effects. Verysillyman up for a go?
