Man, I could've sworn I registered for these forums earlier. I hung around the IRC channel about a month ago for a week or so. Oh well, I guess I didn't register then, but I did now! To sum up: Hi, I'm Ushanka the hat enthusiast.

Anyway, this isn't really "art" but it's doodling so that's close enough. For the doodlers out there: How do you draw stars?

I know most people draw the boring 5-pointed stars with 5 straight lines, but I know of a few folks who take the time to draw a 5-pointed star with 10 lines, so that there is no embedded pentagon. As for me, I've always drawn 7-pointed stars. It's almost impossible for me to draw the 5-pointed standard one without having to really concentrate on what I'm doing. Sometimes I'll try more than seven points if I feel especially like doodling.

Edit: Here are some examples. They look so much nicer as pencil-on-paper!

I draw my stars without the embedded pentagon.

Then again, I also sometimes draw my stars using a protractor, compass and straight edge. They look so much nicer that way!
