Who would win? [all VG villains]

Postby Johnny Edge » Thu Jul 31, 2008 7:32 am UTC

In an all out battle of video game villains and bosses, who do you think would win?
So far I think either Sephiroth, Diablo, Psycho Mantis, or Alma.
Opinions and reasons why?

Mr. Rogers.

It doesn't even matter that he's not a video game character. He would win anyway. (Besides, I'm sure someone has made a flash game where he is...)

It seems you've bested me here...
And sorry for posting it in the wrong place, wasn't sure where it belonged

I'm not sure where it belongs either to be honest. ;-) This is probably as good as a place as any... if you change your mind and want it in gaming or forum games or something I can move it

I doubt any would win; they'd probably agree to team up and kill their enemies once and for all (using ineffectual, easily avoided and simple-to-break weapons, of course).

Evil villains? Not a chance. They might pretend to, but they're all working against eachother from the beginning. Most will probably not even try to pretend, and would just try to smash their way through any opposition anyway.

Not really a Video Game villain, per se, but Father Gregory from Half-Life 2. He's such a cool supporting character.

In the PA game, you fight one of the Old Ones. That would probably take the competition, since they can wipe out all existence.
If I were a Viking god, I don't think I would fall for that.
But if I were a Viking, that's exactly what I would do.

Did you just punch out Cthulhu?

And the correct answer is obviously the Azadi.

I nominate Alaemon, the Demon Prince of Secrets.

What, you don't know what video game he's in? I suppose there's a reason for that.

The answer is clear. The Boss (from MGS). She is a goddess of war and cannot be touched. I would have said Psycho Mantis, but all the good villains know... if they just plug their controllers in the second port, they're good to go.

Psycho Mantis could just transport everyone to real life, where there aren't any controller ports (sure you could actually find a ps2 or something, but there are no contoller ports for life itself.) So then everyone would just stand around blind, while Psycho Mantis throws chairs and assorted furniture at them :D.

I'm going to throw
Spoiler:
Sovereign, on account of being a sentient, mind-controlling battleship several times older than all sentient life in the universe
from Mass Effect into the ring.

(Spoilered due to the fact that he is not obviously a villain until the end of the story)

Zophar, God of Destruction, Lord of Darkness, Architect of Anarchy, and the Master of Mayhem.

At least, that's where my vote would go. He'd likely get the other villains to do whatever they want, without realizing that they're ultimately fueling his own advance at their expense.

On this level, I think you'd have to consider who'd win among games where the main villain is a god or god-like entity. If you restrict it to, say, realistic villains, then you might get a more interesting contest. KF

On second thought, I think it depends on what you're measuring.

If you're talking pure combat ability, I'd have to guess someone like the Dread Lords. Like 10 of those guys can take on billions of troops and conquer a planet.

If you're talking pure awesome, you can't beat Magus from Chronotrigger. Don't even try; you'll just look stupid. The character straddles the line between pathetic and awesome, somehow managing to not be a self-cutting goth/emo loser despite his entire backstory being a goth/emo power fantasy.
