Anyone else doing Tabata training

Postby Johannes Factotum » Sun May 09, 2010 5:46 pm UTC

I just started doing tabata training after a recent injury means I need to cut back on my mileage.
Tabata training goes something like this:

15 minute warmup
8 X(20 seconds on 10 seconds off)
10 minute cool down

So far I've tried it with running and biking but you can also do it with any cardio and apparently even (light) weights. Anyone else tried it?

When training closer to peak events, Tabata intervals are included in the sets I'll do. Others types are just standard timed intervals, and pyramid intervals.

Tabatas as an all out, when done correctly, are a great way to ensure you come close to throwing up :P
