The Waterbury thing looks interesting. I don't think I need the pushups and lunges, but I've been thinking about throwing in some higher-rep unweighted chins, and that seems like a promising way to ramp up the volume. Do you do other stuff as well? Does the PLP thing interfere much with your recovery?

Yes, I do Wendler's 5/3/1 with minimal assistance two days a week (day 1: deadlift/overhead press/frenchies, day 2: squat/bench press/weighted chins). AND BJJ. At a certain point PLP will cut into your recovery - but that just means you can't go balls to the wall in any training session. I'm definitely not a genetic freak when it comes to recovery and I'm doing OK.

Oh. That's very nearly identical to my training, except that I do weighted chins both days, and a little more assistance work. And SAMBO instead of BJJ.

I do pull-ups every now and then, but I never remember to put them in this thread afterward.

High five! Especially since Sambo and BJJ are fairly similar in terms of physical stress.
If I were you I would do it but do less assistance work when you feel like it's getting too much; PLP is daily full body assistance, in a way. Oh, and you should consider doing the chins from gymnastic rings or towels, do anything to avoid awkward joint angles; your wrists and elbows will be the first bodyparts to act up when something goes wrong. diamond push ups also turn out to be a bad idea, at least for me (currently wearing a wrist wrap after an impromptu parkour session yesterday

Nath, I stopped doing PLP after hitting 60 reps/day because
- I didn't see any results in performance and/or appearance
and, more importantly
- my right wrist started acting up. It's probably a tendonitis but I can't be sure. Again, if you want to do this, get a pair of rings.

Somehow I ended up doing something this week even though I told myself that I'd have a break. But going to my parent's house for spring break means that my bedroom has a pull-up bar in it, so it's hard to resist.
