Edit: I found an interviewee. Feel free to leave me your name/e-mail for future interviews I may have to conduct.

(My apologies if this isn't the right section!)

Hi all,

I'm a first-year journalism student and I need to conduct an interview with a stranger for a digital journalism course. It has to be done via e-mail and will allow me to write a 600- to 1000-word biographical piece. I'm basically looking for an interviewee, preferably someone with an unusual hobby or a troubled past so that I don't lack for content. An interesting career and/or lifestyle as well, please.

Technically, the only person who'll read the article is my professor, but the interviewee must be comfortable with sharing some personal info (name, education, etc). I'd be fine with a fake name as long as you create a matching e-mail address.

If you're interested in helping, please send me a private message through the xkcd forums with the following info:

Name, age, languages spoken, education, career, hobbies and interests & e-mail address.

If there's anything else you feel is relevant, feel free to mention it. I will contact potential interviewees shortly. Thanks!

Have you considered checking the Member Interviews board?

How does your professor expect you to find strangers to allow you to interview them online?

You know what, that's actually a great idea. I'll check it out tomorrow.

I honestly have no idea. The interviewee has to be a complete stranger and live in a different area code, so I'm probably expected to send interview requests to random e-mail addresses. It's a pretty silly assignment considering the only part that's even remotely relevant to this particular course (Digital Tools for Journalism) is the e-mail component. We haven't even learned how to conduct a proper interview yet.
