You... liked it? I thought this was one of the weakest scenes in HS thus far. Like he's trying to write a parody of dystopian fiction but it ends up using all the tropes in an obvious way plus clown references. I thought it was better with the information we had; we could imagine for ourselves how bad the Condense's rule could have been based on her past character.

The only problem is that it's been so long I can't really remember what Jake was doing trying to get down to the time capsule in the first place.

Also, I don't think I'd ever heard of Guy Fieri before.

I agree. I just didn't find it funny. Or tragic. Or interesting. And usually he manages at least one of the three.

It also felt like Hussie mocking, yet again, anyone dumb enough to actually engage with anything he's written. "You care about whether these characters get together? HA HA, DUMBASS. You care about whether these characters live? HA HA, DUMBASS. You care about whether billions of thinking, feeling creatures are murdered? HA HA, DUMBASS. You care about whether two people are merged with a game construct in an unholy abomination? HA HA, DUMBASS. You care about Earth getting taken over by an evil alien overlord and every human save two being exterminated? HA HA, DUMBASS, IT WAS JUGGALOS AND OBSCURE FOOD NETWORK PEOPLE. What is with you and your giving a shit about this stuff??"

:/

And IIRC Jake's trying to send Jade the mecha-bunny with the uber-weapons.

I don't think I'd put it that way, but you might be on to something there.

Oh, and the other refreshing thing is that all the narration has been in perfectly ordinary, unadorned, grammatically-correct English.

And IIRC Jake's trying to send Jade the mecha-bunny with the uber-weapons.
The other thing that throws me is, didn't the robot smash the uranium it yanked out of itself, rendering it unusable? I suppose we'll find out. Or not.

I didn't hate the info dump, because Striders are always entertaining to listen to, but it was very info-dumpy and violated all manner of show-don't-tell rules. It's not like info-dumping isn't one of Hussie's things, though.

EDIT: And the latest update was great!
I already have a hate thread. Necromancy > redundancy here, so post there.

The current DD cinematic. The first music used, before he scratches the record and starts over. Can anyone remember which animation it's from? I like it and can't place it.

Hmm, it was the one in which Jack puts on the ring, if I'm not mistaken.

Ah. Bingo.

Which track that was in the album collection, I am uncertain. (Crikey, that was two years ago!)

For definitions of "new song" that include 2011 acapella renditions of songs from 1909. XD Not that the term doesn't apply... I just find it amusing that it does.

Bandcamp link, originally apparently the last song of volume 8. God damn that is a lot of volumes.

Putting overarching plot/pacing/character complaints aside-- as a flash/concept/music video/etc? That was very good. :D

To me it was more - I don't feel like animating this week, and when I do I'd rather not draw anything new for it.

I just hate AMVs/PMVs though, and this was undeniably one of those. (The word 'milk' is in a song so let's find an scene in this anime/pony cartoon with milk in it and show that, I'm so creative)

I'll only stop when its value becomes less than zero, and it's nowhere near that. And of course one is not entitled to anything on the internet.

He was deliberately mocking them, though. Well, most likely that was the case. I got to a point when the multiple times the audience has been made fun of (among other things) suggests that he's up to poking fun at everything his fandom does. (While still, naturally, forwarding the narrative. The song's been played before in-comic. Showing the milk panels hammers in the point that he's matching panels to the words. Then the reader, if in possession of a good memory, remembers how the rest of the song goes before seeing the other, newer, panels. Instant foreshadowing, just add context.)

There were a few tiny, tiny grains of plot advancement, though. Like, all the plot threads advanced by about a millimeter! If you watched through the whole thing and ignored the John/Gamzee smooching or whatever the fuck. So I don't think there was nothing new there.

I just don't hate AMVs, which means my issue is "JEGUS FUCK CAN SOMETHING HAPPEN ALREADY?!" instead. XD

...However, since it is Hussie, I must agree with NaR that it is, in fact, very likely that anything he posts is meant to directly mock anyone fool enough to enjoy it, so, you're probably on the "winning" side there. :P

Yeah. It's Sawtooth, previously stated to be traveling the world challenging people (Carapacians I guess?) to rap-offs. He showed up while Dirk was fighting the drones, during the "Dirk draws pornography" set of updates.

Now that he's moving on to new characters and settings and not fourth-mirror-alternate repeats of the same story (how many Vriskas have been introduced now?), I'm looking forward to HS again for the first time since Act 5 Act 2.

Unless you're of the opinion that Mindfang can be substituted with 1/Vriska, but I'm not sure mathematics has reached a consensus on that equivalence.

(intuitively i think there's an argument, but i have not worked out a proof)

Spoiler:
Despite the ending I like Synchronize more, but I am very sure that is solely because of the music. There's more interesting/awesome things happening in Unite but dammit I like the first half of the track better.

...Listening to the whole track kind of negates that though.

...So maybe it's the breaking windows. When it comes to SBurb I am highly in favor of destructive behavior.

Obligatory Tumblr link: Notes that Dirk's captchalogue requires rapping...

There is also not as much fuss over the fireflies and lanterns thing yet as I would personally make but this is Homestuck fandom, everything will come around in time. XD

All I know is
Spoiler:
Pervy angry uu's* name is Caliborn, and, as was the rampant speculation, he and Calliope share a body. He woke up! And chewed off his leg to get free. (Also like everyone guessed.) He's starting to enter the game, which is fucking everything up-- his kernelsprite is turning into a black hole. (Someone on Tumblr suggested it was because his and her kernelsprites were superimposed and that was glitching it out?) And this is very bad because of reasons.

Meanwhile, Lord English lands in the middle of some dreambubbles and kills the shit out of some dead people. Because that's how he rolls.

...Yeah, I wasn't totally clear on it either, or, particularly... moved? Shocked? Interested? I was going to look it up on the wiki or Tumblr or something to figure out if there were EPIC THINGS I missed there, but I stopped caring before I could manage it. The only part that caught my attention was the bit with Dave, because to be honest he is still kind of my favorite, and if bad things happen to him I will be concerned.

ETA: Now I am even more worried.

Yeah, that link earlier doesn't mention the other piece of evidence I've seen cited, which is http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=003746.

So yeah, it could've referred to a lot of things, and I'd kind of dismissed it as already-fulfilled myself, but... it's a pretty compelling argument. And Davesprite is my favorite.

You know, I saw that yesterday, and I was all, "I, think I will look into that when I am less tired."

Holy shit, was that a good decision. That took like a goddamn hour, what the fuck. I'm not sure I shouldn't have put it off till another less tired day because now I have a headache but nonetheless.

I am not sure whether or not that is a complaint. Probably not. Anyway I thought it should be noted that it's really frickin' long. Jesus.

(and i may have been forced to consult a walkthrough)
Spoiler:
(and i may not have read anything Kankri said but a couple sentences)

(and skimmed over some other text too)

(and ran into trouble because i didn't want to check what i thought would be inevitable fillerfluff in the "be" commands)

(i always read everything and talk to everyone what the hell :/)

(and i had to mute the music halfway through because with the backtracking for chests it was starting to drive me nuts. could've used a couple more songs and/or a little better looping)

(and yeah that was before the backtracking for hussie i am kind of completionist no really)
Anyway yeah that was pretty sweet. Just. I'm probably just tired, but my overwhelming impression was 'loooooong'. Which again isn't exactly the worst thing in the world...

Good $deity, and there's going to be more. I thought he might actually be winding down at this stage. But no, it's getting worse! We're going to have to read all about another twelve freakin' characters! This is... Lucasian levels of crazy.

By the way, was the bomb-suicide actually shown in the comic? I can't even remember anymore.

Also, aside from the first theme, none of the music looped for me. (Also, music with obnoxious lyrics does not go well with attempting to read textwalls with garbled characters.)

EDIT:
Spoiler:
I only realized now that you can get Hussie to join you, so... What does he do for you?
