It is necessary for my recruit to be successful.

Are you saying that you need to know what the role name of someone is before you can recruit them? Did you guess that just_me was vanilla town?

Ok, this is beginning to sound like a much more believable role. Why did you think that just_me was a vanilla townie?

If someone else (probably other than Stubbs) thinks this is a good idea by tomorrow afternoon, I'll do it. I say tomorrow afternoon as I have an exam in the morning so won't get to post until then.

My suspicion level on snark is lowering. This is a lot less like a cop role if he needs to have a role as well.

Also, @Lynx - basically snark claimed a mason role that only works on townies on d1 to save just_me from the lynch. Needless to say it was met with some suspicion (mainly from me).

I'm not buying your crap, Snark.

You need to know the role before you can recruit? That's not how a mason recruiter works.

I will not tell you my role, but I'll tell you my name.

I'm Sherlock. Still want to vote me?

Suzaku wrote:moody7277 is still swinging from the gallows. A cursory search of xyr pockets quickly reveals a Saturday Night Special revolver and a note promising xem or xyr next-of-kin 20 thousand pounds if xe and xyr associates can kill all the other players.

I want to think about this note for a second:

Who wants all dead? The big villain, of course.

It seems to be universal Sherlock-knowledgeable agreement that Moriarty would be our supervillain.

However, if Moriarty was a Mafia head, and Mooney a Goon(ey -- I couldn't resist the rhyme) then this perplexes me.

Because if Moriarty was Mooney's "Boss", so to speak, then he wouldn't have given "a note promising xem or xyr next-of-kin 20 thousand pounds if xe and xyr associates can kill all the other players.

Therefore this to me suggests the possibility that either Moriarty is removed from this game (a "character" but not actually a "player") or the "goons" or Mafia proper don't know who he is.

I don't know. Something tells me I shouldn't read heavily into the death-descriptions, but something else tells me there's a clue here, and we should pay attention.

Thoughts?

I'm actually curious as to what dimochka was thinking.

Besides, just_me confirmed that he was recruited by Snark and flipped VT. There is, presumably, at least some truth to Snark's claim.

I was thinking exactly that, that Stubbs may not be lying but that whoever is VT may have received that Sherlock name. Annoying, huh?

Anyways, that DOES NOT mean that Snark is not town. Basically, if anyone else wants to claim Sherlock this turn, go ahead. And then Snark can try to recruit and see if it works. Yes, I'm aware we're singling out power roles from VTs and I don't like it much either, but it's one way to go about it.
Of course, Snark could now recruit Stubbs and we'd have another confirmed town or confirmed scum as a result. Or he could try it on someone else. Personally based on what we know so far and the reaction, I think Stubbs is town and we shouldn't waste the mason recruit on him, and I'd rather have Snark try for someone else. Because, like it or not, he was right about just_me. I wouldn't mind giving him the opportunity to prove it again (and this time hopefully pick out scum).

I'm fairly comfortable with the townie status of the people voting for moody on D1 to be perfectly honest. Doesn't mean I fully trust them but I'm more so leaning towards it than not.

EBWOP: Based on exactly what Xeno pointed out, I think it isn't a terrible idea for Snark to try to mason recruit either DJ or lynx. Too many people seem to know something none of us were privy to (the existence of more than one Sherlock claim), and I think that's definitely too many VTs.

So we have multiple Sherlocks? I'll wait for more clarification on that. Snark and Angua's fight doesn't make me trust either of them. They both seem shady to me, and I'll reserve judgement for later.

moody7277 was lynched.
Xe was a Mafia Goon.

serrapaladin has been killed.
Xe was Sally Donovan, a town paranoid cop.

just_me has been killed.
Xe was Sherlock, a Vanilla Townie.

I don't think that Stubbs is Sherlock, but am uncertain of what to think of their alignment.

No one else seems to think that I should claim so I can be recruited, which is really in keeping with how I feel.

Snark - given that just_me flipped town and confirmed your story, I don't think that there is anyone here who doubts that you are, in fact, a mason recruiter. The question is whether you are town-aligned, and that is a much trickier one. You would have people reveal roles, in public, which then gets them targeted (should they be a power role), or lets scum know who not to target (should they be vanilla). It could lead to the reveal of scum, but I'm trying to decide whether or not the risk to town is worth it.

You're the one asking us to claim our roles. The secrecy of our roles is one of the only advantages town has over scum.

Actually it doesn't really matter. If Snark can recruit town only, I'd like to know if you can think of a reason a mason recruit on you would fail. Very simple. Whether Snark decides to test it out afterwards is up to him.

Or is your recruit VT only?
