[I guess I have no choice but to say that the day is over, and no one has been lynched... Which I find distressing, since that's largely due to a lack of action by the majority of players. This is going to be an easy game for the pirates if only a few people speak up during the day and no one is lynched and then they have the whole night to kill.
Please send in night action by 2PM EST.]

It had been a quiet day, so the plank remained unwalked... for the moment. The sailors turned in again, all but a few praying that no one would be killed that night.

Geez, you suck at this game, guys.))

In the morning, as they had done for the past several days, the sailors crept from their beds in fearful anticipation of one of their number being dropped. At first, no body seemed apparent--but upon investigation of Felipe's body, a sharp blade was found rammed to the hilt in his back. It was one of the ship's own, part of the armory now put to sinister use.

"Poor Felipe. He never did no one any harm," said someone sorrowfully. "Except that one night when he'd had too much to drink and... well." There was laughter, but nervous laughter of those who don't think a joke is very funny.

"Let's get on with it," was the general consensus, and they all shuffled deckward.

[Daytime. You have until 6:38PM EST to pick captain, then until 7PM tomorrow to pick someone to lynch. For the love of fuck, PLEASE be more active.]

Phlanx, while bringing up Felipe's body and Daniels other arm, which someone thought would be funny if placed in Phlanx's bed, said to no one in particular, "I doubt any of ya 'as what it takes ta be cap'n. We've only thrown one man off this 'ere ship, and true, 'e was a good man, its tha only way we can get the pirates off tha ship. Do any of ya 'ave what it takes ta be cap'n?" With that, Phlanx went down below again to find the rest of Daniel.

Jack stared at Felipe's body, and a chill crept up his spine.
"Aye, Adam did a fine job but I think we shouldn' be keepin' the same cap'n the whole time. I vote Phlanx."

"I don't know about anyone on this bloody ship anymore..." Une glances suspiciously around at everyone. "Seems like we ain't making any ground against all the dirty pirates here. Well, I'll throw my vote in for Phlanx, I suppose."

[All right. Phlanx is temporary captain. 24 hours to vote, as I mentioned. P.S., if the temporary captain is the most active, he pretty much can decide the vote, seeing as it's based on majority... So take part, and if you disagree you can change how things go.]

"Man, you are just determined to kill him aren't you?" Adam asked. "I mean Felipe and Daniel had both at one time or another accused Une, and they're both dead. So did Pete, and she voted to see him drown. The only one of those who have accused Une left is Spencer, and I'd be pretty worried if I was him. Guess what I'm sayin' is I accuse Une."

Une sighs with exasperation. "Someone be tryin' to frame me. I ain't done nothing wrong except be born a damn girlie. I certainly hain't killed anyone." Une frowns, as if wondering who has it in for her.

"Hasty? Hasty? We are forfeiting to the scum by not lynching anybody," Ryan said forcefully. "We need information. No-lynches delay us from getting any, and our numbers dwindle while the scum kill us off. We cannot afford to not to lynch. Your reticence to vote for the only person that you've ever voiced suspicions of make me all the more suspicious of you. What, exactly, are you waiting for before you'll vote to lynch anyone?"

"Cool y'erself.. Y' find these things out with a little subtlety, aye?

Tha's why I'm so slow to vote on these things. If ya'd just watch who acted how toward who, ya'd get a much better look at it all. I done told ya, I'm a trader's son, an' noticin' is all part of business.

I said before, I dun' think Une 'erself is guilty outright, I said I'm not sure about 'er. Iffin' you think throwin' evr'one overboard on feelin's like that's the way to go, you'll be throwin' the good right on out with the bad.

Just keep ye' an eye on who else takes the lass's side."

"If we don't lynch anyone, what's there to notice?" Ryan asked. "We will find the scum by seeing who is leading us down the wrong paths. But if we do nothing, then the scum won't have to lead us in the wrong direction, now will they? Which is precisely what you're trying for, I believe."

"Aye Ryan, ye seem a bit confused t' me," Jack muttered, "Y' say Luke's a pirate b'cause 'e'es quiet, an' because Daniel died. But Felipe was tryin' t' protect 'im, an' Daniel, Felipe and Davy were all accusin' Une. Une would 'ave more reason, too. She wasn' in harm's way any more, so she thought she could get away with it. Still, someone could be settin' 'er up. I'm going to hold my vote fer now."

Unfortunately, a no-lynch was, in fact, NOT the worst possible outcome, as proven by Une spitting on Ryan's shoes upon learning of the verdict.

"You fools," she said, "Going after the woman just because you think we're all a nefarious bunch. Cruel, that is. I'm no pirate. I'm a sailor, just as you are. Or... at least, as most of you are." She cast a look around the crew, then spat again.

"But I'm not one to argue with... 'justice.'" Everyone could hear the quotation marks as Une threw off her hat, and dove down into the sea in her heavy boots, bubbles trailing behind.

[Night action... 20 hours.]

The sailors gathered again, trying not to look like they were trying not to pee their pants. The fact of the matter, however, was that they were, because every day their numbers were growing less and less.

Today, though they scoured high and low, there were no signs of a fresh body-- only scattered pieces of David's remains. There was an unvoiced sigh of relief, and they all sagged.

"Well," said one, "I guess it's time we killed some damn pirates, and got them off our ship, before they kill us all. For some reason they must have felt merciful today."

[Dawn! Four hours (until 8PM) to elect temporary captain, then daytime.]

"Well, there're eight o' us," Jack remarked, "an' some of that eight are pirates. Well, nothing to do but keep on fightin' an' hope we finally get one. We 'aven't been doin' so well. I say we need a new captain. Only Luke an' Ryan realized Une was innocent. Who should be cap'n?"

"If there be but eight of us left, then the pirates must be very close to outnumbering us," Ryan said somberly. "'Tis likely that if we don't lynch a pirate today, then they will outnumber us. You all know my feelings about Luke; I would not suggest voting him captain. I must point out again that Luke constantly voiced suspicions of Une, but was not willing to back that up with a vote. That is very scummy."

"Try Luke. Why? Because I think that Ishmael's the Inspector, and he's been pushing for a Luke vote pretty much every time he spoke. I've tried to avoid casting attention on him, but as we're probably at the lynch-or-lose point we need to pull out all of the stops."
