I have to say, for my first modding, I'm quite happy at the level of discussion being generated so far over what is a relatively simple mechanic. I hope to run a second Neighbourhood Mafia at some point, so I can include the role(s) that didn't get assigned to anyone this time as well as any others I may think up.

It's a pity that the players have gotten one aspect of the mechanics completely, utterly wrong, which could cost them dearly if today's assigned killer uses it to his advantage.

Yep. Recent discussion seems to be moving away from the possibility, so it's not a huge issue any more. If town generally thought that it was true, then scum could easily pick anyone *but* their own neighbour to kill, and town would almost certainly mis-lynch the following night. As it is, I'm now wondering how likely it is that we hit MYLO/LYLO tomorrow.

I think I vastly prefer being scum to being town. When you're scum, you actually know what's going on. I think that's why I was doing fine (at least until GoP RB'd me, how did he know? ) in Scales but I'm already tripping up in Neighborhood even though I'm town

I always try and give some time to find replacements but no one has been interested. Oh well.

Not my fault that some players lurk. Its a problem in so many games these days of mafia. Why do you think I dont play much now? only so much a mod can do about it and incestently killing all lurkers screws the balance. So...its tough.

Also if they are smart they will lynch. Obviously both factions are left which means at least two scum. Of four players. This means two kills tonight minimum. So if the town doesnt lynch the mafia kills decide the outcome of the game.

yeah if anything its annoying. I tend to try and lynch lurkers in games im in. Even if they are town (which i find actually, usually your chances are pretty good of them not being town) they weren't contributing anything so its no loss.

Err, have nothing good to say other than I'm on the good side (well, the protagonists, at least, considering they are smugglers, and the Alliance, which could be considered 'good', really isn't...as you can tell, I think the Alliance is scum. Since apparently Reavers aren't, from what infina has said, and really, the Alliance is smarter than that group anyway, so they make sense to be scum. Reavers would be like serial killers/cult, anyway.
