Minor thread necromancy...

I'm inclined to agree with TMP here. No mafia kill, nobody speaking... I see it all as everyone just too afraid to say anything.

There's got to be people against the Judge if there's no Mafia. Either that, or the majority of us are either Mafia or have roles that are against the town. This is so confusing.

If the majority of us have roles that are against the town, then no one's going to speak up because they're all afraid of getting lynched.

If we all have roles that are for the town, then that makes us all suspicious and this game is for nothing because we'll just kill each other until everyone's been executed.

Suspicion is a tricky thing in this game.

So, I am going to go out on a limb here, because I think this might actually work, and I think this game is very nearly dead, but everyone who could win by seeing the judge lynched tonight should Vote: Akanotu. Let's get it over with, my curiosity is killing me!

Moo Pie, you have got to be joking. They're not going to do that in case they're outnumbered.

Vote: AKAnotu

This should be the last vote needed to lynch AKAnotu, so...could we get confirmation from a mod, please?

Uh, way to go guys, killing/trying to kill your own judge.

I'll let Nebby deal with all the modding.

and ought AKA devise his own death?

I think, in this case, a good old fashioned anarchist uprising and lynching should be sufficient. Shall we mount his head on a pike or some such?

No, the anarchists and pacifists all appeared as townies when they were lynched. I assume we were all anarchists, then? I certainly was.

That's what I thought. Actually, I kind of wondered since the beginning if that was the setup (as I think we all did). It's kind of awesome in theory, but I think it just ended up making the game stall indefinitely as we were all afraid of revealing ourselves. I think this version would be absolutely excellent in person, but it is kind of awkward on a forum.

I though of it on day one because of how many of the players hardly posted, but I didn't express it because I thought of the possibilities of lots of people being townies. I was going to wait until a third person was executed to vote for the judge, but apparently, TMP jumped on it before me. I was scared to take the risk of voting until I saw that someone else voted.

LULZ.

This game was fun. We need setups like this more often.

Guess what, I "knew" it was like this on the first day, so many hints and feet dragging. I forget who said it but they said it best when they said niener niener.

No, no, no, I was fairly sure everyone would have a pretty good idea by day 2 or 3.

However, it's not that simple. Not only do you need to think that everyone is an anarchist, you also need to be confident enough that at least 50% of the remaining people also think everyone is an anarchist.

Lets take an extreme - everyone is an anarchist, but you're the only one who thinks everyone is an anarchist. You vote to lynch the judge, and everyone else is too scared, since they think there's a town majority. They all vote for you, to appear pro town. That's what happened with Azrael on day 1.

And this is what will happen as long as a minority believe that everyone is anarchist. I forbade roleclaiming, so that anyone saying "I think everyone is anarchist" would be modkilled (they've essentially just told you that they are). So to risk voting for the judge, you need to first work out that everyone is an anarchist and then work out that over 50% of people have also worked that out. It's the last bit that I thought would take you all longer.

Now, day 3 was still a bit risky. Mega still questioned TMP directly after he voted for AKAnotu. So it was probably quite a close thing, in reality - with the majority of townies only just wiling to risk it.

Anyway, well done folks. I think it would have been more interesting with less other games going on - people couldn't concentrate on it.

I think the the game would have lasted a little longer had you not mentioned beforehand that there was going to be a weird setup. I think we would have gone on looking for the mafia for a bit longer. Still, very ingenious and fun...

....Aww I'm dead
Anyways, I commit seppuku to retain my honor.
I was going to strap whoever got lynched today to a thumper and throw him into the desert.
Anyways, this game was kind of weighted against the "townie" side. I put that in quotes because I was the only one.
