Actually, I went over this when I got my new avatar, and no one objected. My avatar contains "The Man" which can be said to contain all Police Men, and therefor a great quantity of police hats. Of course, if someone wanted to cop-hat the bunny I wouldn't object, as it would be juicy irony.

It's not much Overbored but:

Silknor wrote:Updated Current Post Counts. Highlighting those who have contributed none-very little. Lurkers hurt the town. Raptors who lurk can't say anything suspicious, while townies that lurk look like lurking raptors. I think if after a while some of the people on this list don't post anything or post nothing but spam, we should consider lynching them.

In the mean time, I think people should keep discussing the roles.

1. Jayhsu XV
2. Nebuduck VIII
3. Maseiken V
4. Wombat I
5. Bulvox XI
6. Megatriorchis IV
7. Azrael001 XIIII
8. OneOfTheDragon IIII
9. InstinctSage XII
10. Overbored XIX
11. une see VI
12. The Moo Prophet VI
13. cycoden III
14. Gojoe VIIII
15. Silknor XXII
16. michaelandjimi XXXIII

Counting all of Maseiken's posts, obviously he just joined and hasn't contributed yet, but it'd be hard to hold that against him, he should start soon.

Wombat and cycoden have been the least active.

Ok, I shall randomly decide between Megatriorchis, wombat and cycoden with just a coin.

Why?

Because I can!

Already done. I divided the three of them into a pair and a single person. (It worked out as wombat vs Cyco and Mega)

I then flipped a coin continuously until there was a string of three results which was either THT or TTH. TTH has a 2/3 chance of coming up first so I assign the pair to that, and if it comes out I do a simple flip to decide whom within the pair. If THT (1/3 chance) comes up first, Wombat is my choice.

As it turns out my first three flips were THT soo...

Vote Wombat

Was it random? Probably, maybe not, but it really doesn't matter, Overbored could have just as easily voted for Wombat since he's made the least posts.

The theoretical question is should we lynch someone solely because they are lurking (I lean in the direction of yes on day 1 only, but only if we don't see some other suspicious behavior, lurking is suspicious/not helpful but if we have a better option we should take it)?

The application is do we consider Wombat lurking enough to vote for him? I would say if the answer to the above question is yes, the answer to this is probably yes soon, the game's been on for close to 2 days.

But before we take a (semi-random?) vote on a lurker I think we should address if it makes sense to do so, I think it probably does, but there may be arguments against it I'm not considering, and someone may pop up in suspicion before we a lynch on Wombat or some other lurker is completed.

I'm not sure there's enough evidence to incriminate anyone, but Azrael isn't making a convincing argument for himself.

Man, all of this "random" voting is going to be so interesting further down the track.

Well, aside from the crazy-voting that just happened, it looks like the best plan is one of the three lurkers. Given that we lynch them based on lack of proper analysis down the track, my vote is as follows:

Megatriorchis: Has actually contributed a bit more now. Shan't go for her.
Wombat: Has voted. This may contribute to analysis of him later.
Cycoden: Confirmed, made a joke and the smallest of contribution.

Based on that, I'm going to lynch Cycoden. random.org agrees with me.

Vote: Cycoden

Although if Wombat doesn't contribute more soon, we should lynch him.

So you've already voted for three people, for flimsy reasons.

The first was pretty much a lurker bandwagon.

The second was a 'joke' vote.

And the third was against me because I called you out on the first two.

The first two times I only voiced suspicion and did not vote (which I see as a bad 'joke,' no matter the circumstances). I was more than happy to give you the benefit of the doubt (hence, refraining from voting). This last vote against me seems pretty defensive, however. If it's another 'joke,' I don't see it.

Wombat's "Vote" was pretty obviously a joke. He didn't give any reason (he said vote Bulvox for being a Bulvox), so I don't think you can use that in any analysis. He hasn't posted since then, at least Cycoden is making some posts, so I think he's lurking less than Wombat.

I want to see what Jayhsu and Azrael have to say about each other a little more before I would feel comfortable voting for either, but if neither of them is suspicious enough, I think lynching Wombat is a viable option if he doesn't post again soon.

Hmm. I detect a slight stench of rotting human flesh coming from Silknor (ie: I find him slightly suspicious).

His method of pushing people to post kind of reminds me of MAJ and his analyses in Round 5.

Too much 'forced' talk muddies the water for everyone. While I agree in principle with lynching lurkers, its important to differentiate between useful and fluff posts.

Re: Azrael - I gather he has a bad habit of acting suspicious in every game he plays. I'm not really convinced enough to vote for him, but I can understand why others might be.

To repeat what I said earlier to TMP: Had you been in those rounds, it would also remind you of me in the Inquisition (the end part) and Round 3, where I played a very aggressive line by line strategy. I was a townie/peasant in both games, that's just my style of play. I'll admit I don't see much of a reason why everyone talking is bad, if someone is accused to lurking and they make fluff posts after, that IS useful in analysis. It shows they're trying to not contribute as much as possible while not appearing to lynch, which is a decent indicator that they're a cornered mobster. If someone is making only fluff posts, we'll pick up on it, but if they're not saying anything, there's nothing to work with. It's good to get people talking, it might take a bit longer to read the thread, but that's better than a dead thread or players who contribute nothing.

Now who in this thread has been accused of being a Heretic when he wasn't, on the basis of jocular votes he made at the beginning of the game...?
Who was the one that turned them against him...?
You know where I'm heading with this Skilnor, I'll readily admit I'm carrying a grudge, but this is not your "Playstyle", you don't disregard random posts, you analyse everything

So, what, Joke votes aren't fluff posts? You're being inconsistent. Not that I'm accusing you... yet. I know you were displaying this attitude in Inquisition and you were a Townie, so I'm willing to accept that this is simply the way you are, but that doesn't vindicate you by any means...
