I am also somewhat lazy in this fashion. I think a lot of us suffer from it. I generally only go back if people are referring to a post or discussion that I don't remember. Otherwise I just operate off of what's going on at the moment. So yeah, MoA... Not all that scummy to me just yet.

Well, it's probably about time I joined this game for real.

The mafia traitor looks like his teeth have been pretty much pulled by the rule additions. There's really not much for them to do to actually help the town, except maybe by subtly influencing the scum NK. We can probably ignore them, then.

Other than that, I really haven't seen a whole lot to go on. I get pings from the newbies (specifically Dromtry and bravewolf, I think) but that's probably because I don't know them. People (in general) have had pretty light trigger fingers, for no apparent reason, and with very little analysis, which isn't particularly helpful.

Now that I go back and look at MoA, I'm getting baseline MoA scum pings, but nothing I haven't seen from him before when he was town.

Not entirely... thus far we have been so focused on whether or not the traitor can out his fellow scum that we have not even looked at the fact that there is a 3 in 5 chance that the traitor is a power role. The traitor could have a one shot unblockable kill, a one shot invention, or a nightly role block. In fact, given that it is borderline impossible for the traitor to traffic information, I think it is highly likely that the traitor has one of these roles. Not to meta-game the mod or anything <.<

Anyway, moving on from the traitor topic, which I think has been pretty much exhausted today: is it just me or have a lot of people been lurking? A game of this size should be moving a lot faster, right? It feels like we expended all our energy on the traitor topic, and now we don't have anything to say...

I have to agree with Une see. The more we talk about the traitor, the more ideas the mafia might get on how to find the traitor, and the more restricted the traitor may become. (See: CF's additional restrictions for the traitor on the first page)

Hmm, MoA votes for lurk a lyncher when discussion is still going strong, and then wants day 1 to be short? The excuse strikes me as trying to be cutesy in one's defence. I'm ready to vote now I think.

Is the mafia told when the traitor dies? Or if when some other mobster dies that they are not the traitor? Can the traitor become godfather?

The answers to these questions have major implications for the traitor's power and town strategy. The traitor has been discussed a lot, but I don't think that that discussion has been very productive mostly because we don't know how awesome for the town the traitor can be late game.

And the traitor has been a majority of the substance here too, it seems like a lot of votes have just been on whims. E.g: I don't trust him so FoS: Master. (Please don't mod kill me for that! :) )

Is the best thing you guys have to talk about really the mod's new title? Can we hear from some more people about anything that has been talked about today?

Really? There was a discussion going on strongly? Honestly, I TOTALLY missed that. Seriously, other than the minor debate about whether it is better if the traitor dies sooner or later, NOTHING had happened.

Also, I didn't say that I wanted day one to be short. I just said I don't care one way or the other.

Finally, since Mega IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO LURK, I still think she is a good day one lynch candidate.

We have Victoria day(May 24) weekend, which wasn't last weekend, but the weekend before. We had the Monday off. It doesn't make sense that it is always the third weekend in May rather than the closest one to the actual date.

No need to yell, MoA...But yeah, like I was saying before, I feel like the traitor topic just sucked out all our spirits and ideas, and now all we have left is to comment on Our Very Awesome Mod, cf. I still don't like lynching lurkers, but I do wonder why Mega signs up for all these games when she doesn't even participate in them. Isn't that just...pointless?

If we are unlikely to get any more real discussion, then lynching a lurker is probably reasonable at this point. Even if the odds of hitting scum are no better than random chance, leaving non-contributors around will just make it harder for the town to win in the endgame, and worse yet, contribute to potential stagnation. Though I would be happy to vote for someone who seems legitimately scummy, all I have is a hunch, and it doesn't look like we are going to get any real info from day one until more things happen.

I usually advocate lynching lurkers, and see no reason not to here. I would like to get the third answer from the mod before the day ends though so I can post some thoughts. If mega doesn't come back soon and if we don't have a better scummy target, I'll go with the lynch the lurker (or lurk the lyncher).

MoA, at the time you voted there was still a discussion, hence suspicion- particularly at the early vote made by Az and MR. Now the conversation has died down to the level of lame jokes, then, yes, its time for a lurker lynch... provided theres no-one better.... I thought maybe you were, but meh. I'd point people in the direction of the names I've just listed as more scummy than someone who has lurked thus far.... and always does.

I'm not the only one who thought the lurker vote was early, btw... I'm leaning towards MR for the early bandwagon at the moment. I'll put my money where my mouth is, I'd like to foster at least a little discussion about this!

As I said before, I think he's town. Even though he voted rather quickly I find his defence reasonable.

But I agree this game needs to go somewhere, we have basically stagnated.

I am not opposed to lurker lynches as a concept, but I think we should at least try some mod prods first. Here is a list I put together of our lurkers so far.

Lurker - Postcount
Bravewolf - 1
Korora - 1
Rakysh - 3 posts, none with content
michaelandjimi - 1, but said he's busy and may lurk early
kellsbells - 5 posts, 1 with content
Megatriorchis - 0
Bulvox - 1
cycoden - 1, said he's busy and may lurk early
Vieto - 4 posts, 1 with content
Tokol - 0

Ok so a few of those people aren't lurking per se, but they also aren't contributing to the game. That's really sad that almost half of the players in this game either aren't posting or aren't posting content.

CF/Gojoe, Can we get mod-prods on the people who aren't posting?

If pokes from the mods don't help, I say we start lynching lurkers. I am a bit suspicious though of people who jumped on Mega as the first prospect immediately. Yes she hasn't posted, but Tokol also has 0 posts and quite a few other people are lurking as well.
