Obviously, I'd be happy with a longer day and discussion and all, but I think the night will be plenty long, and I want brook dead.

Vote: Brooklynxman

Edit: ninja'd. Hrm. wary of speed lynch, but vote stays. Be cool to hear from Nik too, but that's a long shot I guess.
Edit: the revenge: ninja'd again. Brook seems like a bored, defeated mafia, or a jester to me. I'm guessing mafia, based on first few days.

Why, exactly, should we believe anything you're saying? Provide some sort of proof of what you say, and proof of your intentions - that's all anyone's asking.

If I could vote you, I would.

See, that's a reason that almost makes me want to unvote just to get that one little extra vote. Much more convincing than "if you unvote me I'll show you my magic superpowers that I swear I have. Honest."
Having everyone unvote and revote is implausible though, and hopefully we'll have enough active players to pull of a lynch of anyone.

So it looks like Brook is exactly what I think he is, but whether or not he's a jester pulling the NaR gambit is questionable. Either way, he's keeping the waters muddied, so I'm willing to give him a victory if it means I can get one. Besides, frequent nights are probably a good thing-- have you noticed that only mafia have been night killed so far?

Vote: BrookLynxMan

On a side note, Silknor seems to have disappeared. He hasn't updated the vote count or the playerlist or taken much notice of this thread since the day started at all. Rakysh hasn't been around for a while, either, although he's appeared in IRC. I really think we need a playerprod on the mods right about now.

Re: Crème de la Crap Day 3: Perfect Lynch Record?

Postby PossibleSloth » Fri Jul 24, 2009 9:23 pm UTC

First, something I just thought of:
The Mafia Gods wrote:Welcome to Crème de la Crap. The standard rules apply in general, but I’ll tell you now that two roles have the ability to alter the revealed alignment of players. The flavor text may give hints if this occurred or not.
(emphasis mine)

One of these was frogman, as anyone he helped lynch on a green day would turn up scum. So we know there's only one of these left.

On to players:

2. Rodan
He's not town, but seems to be trying to help. I'm willing to keep him around for a while and go after the mafia proper. I suppose it's still possible he's mafia making a false independent claim.

3. PossibleSloth
That's Me!

4. Nikc (replacement for Une See)
Has been focused on Brook, but since he knew what Brook's supposed role was that's understandable. This does bother me, however:
Nikc wrote:Besides, frequent nights are probably a good thing-- have you noticed that only mafia have been night killed so far?

Didn't we just say we shouldn't count on the revealed alignments being accurate? A troubling statement, particularly if the mafia is changing the NK results from "town" to "scum".

5: DarkLoink
Has been pretty good. Offers analysis and has been participating. The only point against him is he's been REALLY cautious (although I've said the same thing about you in the Newbie Game) and that's a pretty classic scumtell.

7. Brooklynxman
I don't think he's in the mafia, but he's certainly not helping the town. In addition to the water-muddying, the fact that his role keeps changing makes me worried he'll become a SK or a mafia supporter someday and really hurt us. I'm fine with him dying tonight.

9. Adacore
Role seems confirmed. We can't do much about/to him until he's acknowledged, so I guess we just wait.

11. Not_A_Raptor
His role is being gradually revealed to him apparently. Could end up being a town power-role or could be lying. I get townie vibes from him. If it turns out he is lying about his role, though, I'll be very annoyed with him, especially if Princess Marzipan is telling the truth.

12. Princess Marzipan
While I think he may be embellishing on the details of his role, I don't think he's necessarily scum. I do wonder why he hasn't been NK'd by the mafia yet, although this could be the answer:
Princess Marzipan wrote:Although it seems maybe the mafia tried to kill me anyway? I'm not sure whether or not I find out if I dodged a NK.

What does this mean, exactly? Do you have some reason to believe someone attempted to NK you, because that would be useful information for us to have.

13. Dedalus
His rolecop/inventor abilities seem mostly confirmed, though not too useful. I'm inclined to believe his claim and think he's town.

By my count at the present time there are 3 votes on brook and it is 5 to lynch, and it is still day.

"No, no I'M the mod," yelled the short townie as the dark cloaked figure descended from the sky holding a rope. "Why won't you believe me?!" Apollo just smirked in the background; the fates had spun their threads and no mere mortal would dare to break the curse.

Brooklynxman has been lynched. He was Cassandra, pro-town. It is now night 3.

Rakysh did miss dedalus' vote, but he was correct about 4 to lynch, I posted as such in the morning news. Anyway, because it was 4 to lynch, nikc hammered and brook died before NAR unvoted.

Cassandra:
Spoiler:
Cassandra-Gifted by the god Apollo with an amazing prophetic ability, when you broke your word he cursed you by killing anyone who believed your prophecies. You may make ridiculous prophecies and claims that no one in a regular game would believe. When someone indicates they believe one of your prophesies or claims, you may day kill them (has to be same day), privately (by PM). The flavor text won’t say you were the one who killed them. If the prophesy/claim isn’t outrageous enough, it doesn’t count; it has to be truly unbelievable in a normal game. If you think you’ve gotten someone to believe you, PM me with what both of you said. It will be subject to my discretion as to if what you said is unbelievable enough to qualify, and same for them believing you.

You cannot be night killed. You win with the town, but you lose if you don’t successfully get someone to believe one of your prophesies/claims and then kill them, even if you would have won otherwise.

Oh, and one little twist, whatever you prophesize/claim becomes true if anyone believes it. If it would be completely game ruining (eg. everyone is a vanilla townie except me, I am unlynchable unkillable multi-night killing scum), then I won’t count it either as true or allowing you to daykill someone, but a very wide variety of things will be allowed. You can PM me at any time to clarify these things and check examples.
