It started out well enough.
Misterk and Mavketl would distract the guards this time with a frontal assault on the plant. Meanwhile, roband and cjdrum would sneak around the back, arm the explosives, and get out. it was a chilly night, and as they descended on the plant, no one thought it strange that the plant's security was normal, despite an attempt to destroy it the previous night.

Mavketl and Misterk did their damage, luring the majority of the security towards the front. Roband and cjdrum slipped in, infiltrated the facility - and found themselves surrounded by Imperial soldiers, exactly where they were supposed to be arming the explosives.

Luckily, Mavketl and Misterk, who had not heard from the other two at the appointed time, managed to circle back around and crash the trap set for them. An intense firefight ensued, and cjdrum and misterk were lost in the chaos, while Roband and mavketl escaped. Hours after they'd returned to the Resistance warehouse, with cuts, burns and wounds, misterk and cjdrum stumbled back, hurt and bleeding.

They had known exactly where to wait for the Resistance. Someone had talked, and it was becoming increasingly deadly for the Resistance. Another sabotage might mean the end of them all. They decided that the plant was too hot, and decided to run reconnaissance on the Imperial base they had originally planned to hit.

Mission Disposition:

argh, what does this mean? If we're lucky this means that mav isn't a traitor, and one of the two three sabotaged. But it could mean that one of the traitors was on the other team. Man this is hard for town to win!

Hmmm... Failure in the third mission was not altogether unexpected (indeed, success would have practically been a win), but this still leaves us in a pretty nasty spot. We need two successes now. We know that most likely one of the people on the last team is a scum and one of those who stayed home is a scum.

Summary of what we know:
(myself, Viae) (Mavketl, misterk, cjdrum, roband)
(myself, Mavketl, misterk) (Viae, cjdrum, roband)

Each of these groups has most likely one scum. No time to go further with the analysis now…

Well, if an outsider would say that all of those had an equal chance of being correct, I KNOW that I'm not the scum.

Therefore, mpolo is more likely to be scum than anyone else on the list.
Therefore, mpolo and cjdrum are the scum.

Obviously, in Mav's eyes, this makes Viae and mister k the scum. But you see my point? Therefore, I think it might be best for me to NOT include mpolo or cjdrum in my mission

I don't understand. Eliminating 'duos' of which you are not a part results in:
mpolo and cjdrum
Viae and mister k
Viae and Mavketl

Why would you suspect mpolo because of that?

Yeah, so as I say, even UNDER the assumption that every single time they've had the opportunity, scum have failed, we're still in dire straits here. So robands going to propose himself, obviously. So we'll work under the assumption that he's not scum for now (although I'm willing to be argued wrong). I know I'm not scum, which leaves me with viae and mav or mpolo and cj. I'm drawn towards the latter because mav feels townie, but meh. Its kind of a crap shoot.

Can I remind everyone that "I'm not scum" doesn't actually get us anywhere?

I must say that I can't see why mpolo absolutely must be scum.

And, @roband, there are two places for each of those people... For this mission, wouldn't it make sense to keep both of them out, and try to get the other scum out as well? So we have three of the four not-as-likely-to-be-scum, with the fourth (hopefully) being the other scum.

Okay. You said that in the scumduos, mpolo is in there twice, and Viae is in there twice.

I was saying that, since one of the two of them is most likely scum, we can keep them both out (to keep one confirmed spy out), and we have a group of four to choose from for the three mission.

And the "defence" (which was actually just a question) was aimed at mostly Viae. It followed on from the "I'm not scum" point. Because Viae said:

That team has an unnecessary high risk of you being a spy. I realize that you know you're not (or pretend to, if you're scum), but we don't.

Back to The Duos:
mpolo and cjdrum

Viae and mister k
Viae and Mavketl

If one of mister k and me is a spy, town has lost.
If mister k and I are town, Viae must also be town. No information about roband.

So to you it is exactly the same level of risk, but to everyone else, you are taking an unnecessary risk.

This cannot be info gathering - this is the real deal. If we have both scum in there - great, we failed twice as hard. But it doesn't tell us anything other than that we lost.

Sorry, mister k seems slightly confused as to that fact. I wasn't sure how clear it was originally...

More repeating of something that I got wrong the first time around, then others have clarified. Is this normal CJ or scum CJ? I really don't know.

But, I'm pretty happy with the people I nominated, despite realising that there was a better combination.

Honestly? Not really, since there doesn't seem to be any logical explanation for it.

For you: the two teams are equivalent.
For us: the other team is superior.

Since having yourself on the team does not actually improve your chances if you are town, I don't understand why you prefer that option.
