In other news, either Silknor is not mafia, or the mafia is trying to make it look like he's not mafia. (As we were reasonably sure that the stick and the shotgun were controlled by the mafia.)
Doesn't make you less of a vampire...

I'm happy to believe he's not mafia. He claimed Groucho incredibly early...

I'll start with the post I was typing on Sunday before I realized that the day was already over:

@Tim:
The plan you outline is indeed quite evil. I think you overestimate Groucho though. Going by mpolo's claim that he bid 55, the winner must have paid at least that much for it. That means it will take almost 3 days to break even, and possibly more. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy I won Groucho, but the impact is smaller than you seem to imply.

@Me:
Why are you talking to someone who died? Oh right, it’s because:

I was planing on voting for mpolo until Chickenfish and matt decided they'd rather I not post for the day. It may or may not be that suspicious, after all, who wouldn't want to end the day quickly after mpolo's response, but there's no pro-town spin for their actions, just one mitigating factor.

I am for lynching mpolo again.

Well I scouted matt last night but since mpolo literally claimed scum today I don't think there's any need to verify and I'd rather not put that kind of information out there since it's mostly helpful to scum rather than town.

I'm not too happy with Chickenfish's hammer. Neither Silknor nor ConMan got even one post in yesterday. Scum has a great incentive to quash discussion, and his excuse of "not much strategy to talk about" could have been trying to not look scummy while hammering. Also he's had a strange fixation on the Ancient Vampire from the start of the game. (a fixation that is mirrored in the reverse in some of mpolo's older posts, funnily enough)

Today I'll support an mpolo lynch. We'll have to lynch him tommorrow too. After that I'll be voting for Chickenfish.

I can understand the impatience, but let's not pile on more votes just yet. Chickenfish did ask us to wait till he got back, and if I'm going to find him scummy for hammering before people posted yesterday the least we could do is give him a chance to post.

So I'm cop. Was intentionally quite scummy so I'd live through another night, but I fear I'm pretty doomed now.
TMG investigation returned town (may have bribery), and TMG has also been the first person to target me both nights (note, I've been hit with papercut and shotgun... may be different people though). matt's town.
That's all I really wanted to say. I think we should probably have some more discussion, but yes, we need to kill the vamp!

That said, given the very high likelihood that mpolo is the Vampire, I'm still in favor of lynching him. Delaying vote for now of course.

I think he did tell you the two people who he copped: TMG and Matt. He also told you who targetted him first both nights: TMG. He knows that he was hit by shotgun (mafia) and papercuts (town). He doesn't know the order of those attacks, or whether he was targetted by something non-obvious.

[Sorry, as I am going down, I wanted to make sure that people start using logic more than probability on these things…]

I will unlikely post again before I die. Rest assured that I have made arrangements for the rest of the game.

Chickenfish is dead, he was the Police Chief.

Mpolo was the mafia NK target.
Silknor was the Vampire target.
Chickenfish was the primary target for Shotgun. (mostlynormal and Silknor were secondary).
Chickenfish was poked with the stick.
Mpolo took poison damage.
Mpolo and fearless were given paper cuts.

Is there a reason why Chickenfish's powers were not revealed upon death in the start of day post, or did Chickenfish just not win any powers?

Re: The Evil Auction D4: Cop Down!

So we're in a tough position, and we need to stop and think. If we lynch mpolo (he should be weak enough to actually die this time) and the mafia nightkill manages to kill somebody we'll be at 2-2 (or worse, 1-1-2) tommorrow. Or if we go after mafia to balance it out, then (assuming we find one at all) we'd have to hope that they have low energy, because worst case scenario would be 1-1-1-2 (2 being the mafia). Even if we lynch and kill mafia tonight a successfull kill could bring us to 1-1-1-1, 2-1-1, or something precarious like that.

Well I was going to go in advising caution but it looks like lynching mpolo is still our best bet. Looking at worst case scenarios (somebody dies tonight), they're all bad. At least an mpolo lynch has an acceptable best case scenario (2-1-2)

Oh great. I forgot the survivor was in the mix. I actually don't know what we should do now. I think 2-1-1 or 2-1-1-1 might be winnable if town has enough energy. So that means we should go for mafia. Which means my vote should go on matt. An mpolo lynch is exactly what scum wants.

I am sorry, I was just assuming that the other townies had around as much energy as me, I think at this point, I could be lynched, mafia NK'd, hit by the the Ancient vampire, and still survive another lynch the next day. The biggest problem is that with every other person killed, the lynch's maximum damage becomes lower, and every day mpolo is still alive, he is gaining 25 more energy and then losing 8 from poison damage and the more energy he has, the more lynches it will take to finish him off, the thing we have to determine is if, on the condition we don't lynch mpolo today, will he be killed by the lynch tomorrow.

Even if we did finish him off tonight, we'd be at 2-1-2, which is a scum win because the survivor will vote with scum. Also, he gained 50 energy total last two nights and lost 50 to a lynch and 70 to a nightkill, so he should be at around 30 right now. Finishing him off will have to wait.

Your post looked a lot like scum trying to get mpolo lynched before town stopped to think. Framing it in the form of a question only made it look scummier (I want to lynch mpolo, but will you let me, town?)

Based on what we were told by the scouter result and my math, if Mpolo did not have any energy regaining powers other than the ancient vampire target, he should be dead by now, which means we weren't given the correct information from the scouter, or Mpolo has other energy restoring powers, making the Ancient vampire into a serious threat if left alive and ignored while we hunt down scum, we need to do something now, and I think the best thing to do is stop the likely over powered Ancient Vampire.

My math is
100+25-8-(30+(5*5)+10+10)-70+25-8-6=-17
Starting energy D2+25 gained N2-8 poison N2-30 for lynch base damage- 5*5 people voting Mpolo -10 for lynch vampire -10 for hammer -70 for mafia NK +25 gained from AV -8 for poison -6 for paper cuthttp://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=2of4

Sorry for the weird link in my last post, I am posting from my iPod, and that must have been accidentally pasted in there, so I just realized that Mpolo might be the person with lich or whatever, the only way they can be killed is by being lynched, or us letting his energy pop back positive tonight, only for it to drop negative again killing him, so we don't lynch him today, he's dead tomorrow, I think that might just be the best plan, killing the AV, and letting us lynch mafia, if we can find them, also, do people agree that if someone with the power that is a public cop on someone who voted for them if they get killed by the lynch should claim and get killed by the lynch if they have there energy drop to a point where a single lynch would kill them (requesting scummy players to vote them and lynching them the next day if they refuse and we don't get a cop result)?

No, we don't lynch Mpolo because he almost certainly has lich, which in its power description says that it won't bring you back again if your energy goes positive and then back negative, tonight he gains 25 energy from his AV power, which he can't withhold, then then drops back to *face palm* just realized we need Mpolo to also be hit with a paper cut tonight to kill him without lynching him, so if we assume the non-mafia with paper cut targets Mpolo again, then Mpolo dies and we can use today's lynch against scum, anyone disagree with my plan?

ok maybe I misinterpreted the power. I thought it meant if the player has negative energy he'll only die through a day-lynch (ie can't die through NK) but maybe your interpretation's more accurate.

I'm pretty sure the power says that if you take any damage at negative energy you die. Also, if you're at positive energy and you die to a lynch, you die for real.

Unvote

I wanted to lynch matt because his first post looked a lot like mafia feeling town out for the attractiveness of a vampire lynch. If he had information that mpolo might be more powerful than we thought, then it makes more sense. I'm still in favor of finding mafia rather than lynching mpolo though. Mpolo will still be lynchable tommorrow, and lynching mafia puts us in a much better situation.
