Blind post from a few pages back...

I LOVE Taco Time! Their crispy bean burritos are one of my best childhood memories (of food). I'd squirt two or three of their salsa/sauce packets on a single burrito. Mmmmmm... Good times.

Then we moved across the country and no more horrible, cheap, yummy goodness.

He's a bored and annoyed god. Awesome character IMHO, partly because he's so extremely unlikeable. Just like bored immortals (Russell Edgington in TrueBlood for example).

Since I got suprisingly busy I've got [heresy]close to no time[/heresy] for keeping up, so this is a piece coming from from about 35 NPs ago. If you ever wondered (yes, I know, you actually wouldn't, but I really like the comforting thought) if I'm still alive and kickin': Yes. ;-)

I am fairly wellcontained in the Quest, so the lower wind resistance isn't an issue. I still have to push the bike through the air. The lower mass (from approx 130kg to approx 37kg) does help with getting to speed, but doesn't really change much in terms of top speed. At top speed it's 90% wind resistance anyway.

Now that we've seen Cuegan in the context of a shed, hut, house, or whatever it is, we can make a somewhat better estimate of the conversion factor from cue to heretic units.
They're certainly not small kids. Looking at Cueball standing behind the window, he appears to be an average-sized adult (although that depends on the type and age of the building, of course). So I think our estimated conversion factor of about 0.35 giraffes (1.75m; 5'9") stands.

ETA (where is everybody??): what happened to the spade? Did Cueball put that, text adventure game style, in his inventory backpack (which is smaller than the spade)?

@rvloon: I enjoyed those two filks, Ronald, - especially the Les Mis one.
Neil_Boekend wrote:In a small village near the coast Queball and Megan live. Queball is a wizard. Villagers come to him with all kinds of problems, but he is renowed for his healing skills. From all over the country people come to him with after accidents and with diseases and malformations. He can cure them all.[...]
Awesome, thrilling, and chilling. Especially since when Megan wants brains, she goes after Queball. That is unsettling.

@yappobiscuits: Wonderful Puttin' on the Blitz! Such amazifying talent here! And where, by the One True Author, did you come across "Giraffe in my Loft"? Funny original, funnier filk! (Now, did you do an ottificaiton or a zombification? I don't see any otters!)

There were some other things I really enjoyed but cannot remember right now. Just know I read it all and it starts my day off happy.

So, what is it about some pictures in the thread that yield "viewed 84 times" where others do not? And the gap between 84 and a million is somewhat seaish. Even granted they measure different things, I'd expect them to be related by a number that is somewhat smaller.

Neil_Boekend wrote:I am fairly wellcontained in the Quest, so the lower wind resistance isn't an issue. I still have to push the bike through the air. So what is it that makes riding the Quest bike so much easier?

It sure looks to me that Cueball is taking a drink from that pail. He's probably just looking, but you never know with him! And I'm also noticing that the pail seems to have acquired a rim when he put it down later.

Not at all, unless we assume that the artifacts there (shed, etc) are "our sized", an assumption that doesn't really add to what we already know. It could be a world of beings of any size, and they would build the appropriate sized artifacts for themselves.

I'm glad you're enjoying my stories! So... dropping things on your kettledrums gets me praise? I'm going to have to remember that! Hmmm...fhorn had better be careful of his French Horn - the play's not over yet! (I'd always read his name as "horn in F")

Good morning, y'all. Finally I am making an appearance in this incredible adventure! I have been an avid follower (read: sneaky skulker) ever since the Beginning of Time. On numerous occasions I have been tempted to reveal myself, but as I said, I couldn't help myself. The shed was just too much. *jumping up and down*

So, nice to see y'all!

And the first thing you do is go and double-post, tsk, tsk. I'm sure you'll fit right in :D I do that all the time
I wrote a book exploring the nature of identity and loss of self! And another book about babies!
Also, vlog and short-story blog

What is that thing in the bushes on the left? I couldn't find any reference to it in the last couple newpages, but it looks like a pretty large molpy. It first enters on 2214, but it's visible as a big shadow in the bushes on 2215. If I can figure out how, I'll make a gif.

I predict that it's La Petite being sneaky!

Well, only attachments get such a label, externally hosted images don't.
We have over a million views, and close to 1000 NP, so the average NP has over 1000 views. So yes, you'd expect the average attachment to have a number in that order of magnitude.
Perhaps browsers don't always refresh images when you refresh the page? That could explain why the numbers are lower.
Hmm.. There's an attachment on NP2 with 15188 views, which is probably what you'd expect. (Over 1000 on the ‘average’ page, but early NPs aren't average, of course.)
About halfway the OTT, on NP442, there's an attachment with 583 views. That's at least the right order of magnitude.

It sure looks to me that Cueball is taking a drink from that pail. He's probably just looking, but you never know with him! And I'm also noticing that the pail seems to have acquired a rim when he put it down later.

Indeed, the bucket seems to change shape a few times.

Not at all, unless we assume that the artifacts there (shed, etc) are "our sized", an assumption that doesn't really add to what we already know. It could be a world of beings of any size, and they would build the appropriate sized artifacts for themselves.

You're right, of course. We can't assume anything. So we might as well shut down the OTT and just sit there, staring at the OTC waiting for it (to change). But where's the fun in that? ;)

Songs! Stories! Newposters! And a BUKKIT! Sweet sassy molassy, it's another glorious dix (crap, I cannot for the life of me remember the proper terminology that doesn't sound smutty) here in the OTT.

Oddly enough, a French horn is indeed in F. Convenient for those of us with CRS.
Marchlight, I love seeing your horse (avahorse? equimolpy?) peering around the corner, it always catches me by surprise (good kinda surprise, like "oh hi there!").

Hey there, folks....
Been doing some off and on blitzing-while-lurking (so MANY wonderfulness things to reply to, mayhaps I'll do a ketchup style post when Time permits); and I've also bee poking around the rest of the Forum (especially places I've never really looked at.)

One thing I found (and maybe this should be linked to in the FAQ's {attention: Moderators?}) was a sticky post that answers many question about general "How To" posting skills like; quoting, adding images, etc. at Board index < Sound and Fury < General < Forum Guide for newbies *Updated Oct 16th 2012*. It would be nice for many of us not to have to dig for that info, maybe.

Next: A million views. Wowser. Which makes this one an interesting artifact. (Some refresher backround, many, many newpages ago there was a discussion about parallel "Time" threads. {A joke was made about a "Time" thread without craziness [as if...]}. And, I believe BlitzGirl did find a thread about this thread in the "General(?)" arena. That's when azule became "Ambassador azule".) After that digression, the micro-news is I tripped over another "Time" related thread at Board index < Site Administration < Site/Forum issues < Can't find topic for "Time" xkcd strip; from which I'll quote in full {Thread is "Locked", hand quoted}:

I was going to see the post that showed all the different phases of the Time strip fro a few days ago and I can't find the topic thread at all. Was it deleted ?

What's fun to me is this happened during the "Madness" when there were only about 130-150 pages in the OTT. Also, a quick skimming role call of those 20 or so pages gives us: 123Adz321, AluisioASG, buffygirl, Bytes, Dracomax, dreiarmumig, edo, Flotter, Helper, higgs-boson, KarMann, k.bookbinder, mojacardave, mscha, Opiboble, SBN, treadman, Valarya (and those are just the ones I noticed while trying to sync the "Forum Issue" thread to the OTT). And people wonder why I call these folks "Elders of the Thread".

Aaannnddd more currently: If/when Cuegan meet the "Campfire/Shed Folk" maybe they'll be wearing Sashes.

I like the Q in the name and he wasn't named by the Great Lord Randall, so I feel free to give my own spin. The reason I like the Q might be due to a certain bike I bought a while back: a Quest.

It's pronounced "kwee-ball", I assume?

Now wait just a second! All of a sudden she knows the word "stream"?

Good catch! There's definitely something molpish going on. No idea what, it's something really ɛ. Maybe a gholpy?
