What am I forgetting?

A vest-of-many-pockets is useful for picking up interesting things you find on your journey. A thwap-stick might also come in handy if you meet any raptorcats or other raptorish fiends lurking in the pastpages (you can always use it as a walking stick, too).

You may need some translators. rot-13, morse code, tiny-text, ...

ED fell into his own cookie trap. Not sure about Aluisio. I'm afraid that for many of his posts I am like Ginger in the Gary Larson "what dogs hear" cartoon1. I know some of the words, but often can't decipher the whole thing.

1 I was going to post a link, and in my searching I found a letter from Gary Larson asking that his cartoons not be on the internet.

Well actually someone else snared me in it in an otherforum and voices told me that waiting for cookies was Related.

SBN wrote:(...) could someone with a post early on NP1416 put a danger warning for those still uninfected?

My OTTification of What-Ifs 57 and 59 is ideally placed (right below the Pope) for such a warning, so I added one there. I tried to make it funny and worth reading too.

BlitzGirl wrote:A vest-of-many-pockets is useful for picking up interesting things you find on your journey. A thwap-stick might also come in handy if you meet any raptorcats or other raptorish fiends lurking in the pastpages (you can always use it as a walking stick, too).

So noted. I've also got flame retardant, trollelagh (club for hitting trolls), chronoscanners and of course my notepad and drawing tools. I make plenty of notes and the occasional drawing while travelling. I'll probably be shipping a few Past Presents and stashing the rest away on mrob.com for the incurably curious.

SBN wrote:You may need some translators. rot-13, morse code, tiny-text, ...

And hexadecimal-endoded ASCII and a couple others. Amazingly, I've already worked out that I need those. As for tinytext, I'm converting much of the OTT to RHTF for reading purposes. I teleported from the Outer Realms into the One True Thread many times before the Unmentionable, but due to my Prime Directive* did not actually post. And I've made many visits to past Newpages (I count it as a "visit" if I just keep reading posts for 2 or 3 newpages, well after reading the thing that brought me there).

k.bookbinder wrote:Wait, there are cookies? Where are there cookies? I like cookies.

! NNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! !

For the love of Randall, do at least read the warnings first. We don't want to lose anOTTer.

Okay, back to packing the TARDIS...

*Sort of a personal prime directive. Don't waste the OTTers' time by posting theories about the OTC without blitzing the whole thread first.

Edit: Apparently you can't type these smilies manually? Huh.

I don't know about you all, but I'm actually playing the original version of that webtoy-which-must-not-be-named. I ran across the Cheats page on the wiki for the updated version of the baking monstrosity, and my use of those spoiled the fun (*phew*). The "Classic" version (less than a month older, mind you) requires much less direct effort, and more leaving it open in a separate window (for some reason having it in a background tab slows production tremendously, having it in a different window as the active tab does not).

Evil cookies? But...cookies! How could they possibly be evil? Are they, perhaps, not suitable to be enjoyed with tea or coffee? Perhaps not dunkable in milk? I don't follow. I shall have to read the warnings.

I fear this could be my last or near-last post here. I haven't properly ketchupped in over a week, due to a combination of school starting and me being somewhat bored reading the OTT for very long, although I've read random pages here and there. I guess I'll just show myself into the basement, but stay on the stairs so it's always easy to come back. Bye.

Edit: I see you've been playing cookie clicker, which is fitting. I've had it open all day and right now I'm at 3 billion cookies.

Archive.org saves the day again/ird059

Postby AluisioASG » Mon Sep 02, 2013 3:00 am UTC

Good night folks.
I have this weird feeling of having seen y'll today yet I don't recall doing so. Anyway, today was a busy day: there was a fair at uni and I spent the afternoon telling people what CS was about. (Not an easy task when people assume CS = programming, or worse, CS = game programming. Please ignore the fact that's exactly why I entered this course in the first place.)

I'm about to collapse from exhaustion but I know if I do it now I'll wake up in the middle of the night. So, a new chapter inspired by the recent events (I guess I'm copycatting Jose on this one):
Spoiler:
Before the Blitzrandir could enter her palace, she was stopped by her faithful servant.

Chronos the Dragon wrote:Good news have just arrived, my Blitzrandir. One of the expeditions has found a sanctuary.

The Blitzrandir wrote:Excellent. When will it be ready?

She tried to keep moving but it was like Chronos was trying to prevent her from proceeding.

Chronos the Dragon wrote:Uh, madam. The excavation haven't even begun yet.

She felt something else was happening there, but she couldn't handle it now. There were more important matters for her to attend.

The Blitzrandir wrote:Well, in this case, I'll go there and incentive them to excavate faster.

As she started to walk in the direction of the stable, Chronos moved inside the castle.

Chronos the Dragon wrote:This shall be your last trip, BlitzGirl the False Blitzrandir. For when you come back, the Real Blitzrandir will have arrived and he will turn you into ash―

The Ambassador wrote:and cinder.

(I may have to rewrite the scene eventually, but the base plot is there.)

Ah, midnight. Three to four hours to go. I don't think I can make it.
Maybe I should do some ketchupping.

Oh, BlitzGirl has turned 2800. Rabbitday, BlitzGirl!
Spoiler:

PS. Does anyone, by any chance, have a lossless copy of Nine Inch Nails' Ghosts I–IV? Nevermind. Archive.org has it.

Re: Cookies

I've been trapped as well. Its hard to coma knowing how many golden cookies I'll miss the while. I'm up to 323 MCps and have unlocked every upgrade. i have 100 of every building except portals (98) and time machines (only 73). I'm going for 200 cursors but so far I only have 177. I keep pausing every few seconds in whatever else I'm doing to hunt for golden cookies. This game thingy is particularly traplike to otters, with our training in waiting for it. Don't start this game, anyone who is still free of it! I can't stress that strongly enough! The OTT could grind to a complete halt whilst we all wait for golden cookies in another window.

An undetermined number small enough to ensure survival of the raft and sandcastle yet large enough to have not personally experienced the old lands.
