My dear OTTers! My dear Timewaiters and devotees, Ottifiers and Manippers, Analysers and Data-wranglers, Knights Temporal, Blitzers and Molpy hunters… Also you good delurkers whom I at last welcome into the thread. Today is my One Thousandth Post-dip!

I hope you are enjoying yourselves as much as I am. I shall not keep you long, I have called you all together for a purpose. Indeed, for three purposes! First of all, to tell you that I am immensely fond of you all, and that a thousand posts is too short a time to live among such excellent and admirable OTTers. I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like more than half of you JUST as much as you deserve!

Secondly, to celebrate my 1000th post-dip! I should say: our 1000th post-dip. For it is, of course, also the 1000th post-dip of my dear fellow OTTer, ChronosDragon. Together we score two thousand! It is also, if I may be allowed to refer to ancient history, the two-mip anniversary of the beginning of the Encounter Eon, when Megan and Cueball first encountered the Beanies, and I had just returned from a trip to London with a rather large pile of ketchup. I was at 400 posts then, and big post-milestones such as this did not seem so important. The banquet was very splendid, however, though I had a bad cold at the time, I remember, and could only say 'Thag you very buch'. I now repeat it more correctly: Thank you very much for coming to my little party!

Thirdly and finally, I wish to bring you all a present present, in the form of a brand new original song for the occasion.
*Raises glass* To the One True Comic, and the Thread! Molpy up!

Bonus present present: Orchestral version.

Also, lyrics:
Spoiler:
I got one thousand posts in the One True Thread
And the time has come to celebrate
So I'll uphold that noble tradition, and honour this post milestone
With deep profundity, so I bring you this song

I wrote one for one hundred about dicks
And another a hundred later about boobs
But since then we've developed a whole new stash of naughty words
So this one's about something new, let me tell you what

It's about…
CHIRPING MUSTARD!
CHIRPING MUSTARD!
And semencoffeecancerbaconbabiesonice
CHIRPING MUSTARD!
Molpy CHIRPING MUSTARD!
That's what this song's about, cos I got myself
ONE THOUSAND POSTS!

When I first delurked on the forum, I never knew what lay in store
The good times that we shared, I'll never forget
The songs, the pics and poems, the charts and comics too
But most of all, waiting for it with you

I've seen so much in these five months of Time
Now a thousand posts in the thread are mine
And on this momentous occasion, I feel that I must say
Something meaningful and memorable, so listen close to me

Cos I'm gonna say…
CHIRPING MUSTARD!
CHIRPING MUSTARD!
And semencoffeecancerbaconbabiesonice
CHIRPING MUSTARD!
Molpy CHIRPING MUSTARD!
That's what this song's about, cos I got myself
ONE THOUSAND POSTS
In the One True Thread!

Congratulations, yappo! And ... wow... just WOW! You've outdone yourself. As Blitzgirl said I can totally picture this with a huge chorus as a grande finale to a big production on stage for "TIME - The Musical". Thinking of this, you wrote quite a few numbers already which would fit right in the narrative: 100 Posts, 200 Posts, Blitz Like The Wind, The Knights Temporal, Megan and Cue,... A. L. Webber you better watch your back!

Now I just need some ch*rpin' mustard graphics for my 404 and 500 error pages...

News as understood by an OTTer who only follows comedies about the news:

Some rebels in the Beanie lands have much mustard which is harming other Beanies. This has the Forty and the People in the Hills divided over the action that needs to be taken.

The leaders of the Forty have allowed the culling of molpies. This has left protesters lead by Cuegan furious. They have released a song called 'Save the Molpies' inspired by 'Molpies!'

There is also a sanctuary for ugly molpies. Well, that's sorted, then.

And that was Minim with the news, now over to Yappo with the weather.

The sky will be #FFFFFF, as always. The ground and everything else will be #000000, as always. Slight chance of Zanclean flood.

Whew. Thanks everyone! BlitzGirl and Sciscitor - I'm glad you both caught on to the whole stage musical thing, that was totally what I was going for! . Well, partly that, and it was partly just a big rip off loving tribute to Tobias Sammet, particularly his Avantasia project. And BlitzGirl - I'm glad your molpies are no longer pelting S&Ms at me, but I will miss the adorable lil chirps! And happy 2900! Chirp, you'll be at 3000 soon!

Treeishly beanified comic, Zooman :P

Anyway, I'll do my seaish wall of posting-hiatus ketchup tomorrow. I worked solidly on finishing that song all dip and nip so I'm exhausted. Still, I'm very happy to be back and posting again!

Also I've had lots of ideas for new and exciting boosts. For instance, one which gives a free castle [ETA: per chain level] for the first non-ninja click of the ONG. Also, badges which give castles as rewards. I'll have to set it up to give any for badges you already have.

Be careful with that. Coma can be banked ahead of time, but repaying a debt is hard. Sorry, CD, don't mean to always be giving you parental advice. Mostly I'm repeating what my own kids should have heard/listened to.
On a non-parental note, have you ever done the Seattle underground tour? I recommend it. And too late for you now, but the Winchester Mystery house has a behind the scenes tour that is considerably better than the standard tour. Listen to them when they tell you to wear the hard hats though.

I was trying to work out if you'd molpied up at a normal person hour for a change, or if you'd stayed up finishing the song. I guess this answers that one.

Yup, I got up around... this time yesterday, and pretty much got to work on it right away. The orchestrations were all done by then, but I had to record the guitars, bass and vocals, and then get the final mix done*.

Although, as you may have noticed, unless I'm coma-posting, I haven't molpied down yet at all. :P I ended up having some food (hadn't eaten since dinner yesterdip. I'm weird like that. A terrible procrastinator who can never start work but once I do I can't put it down to do anything else...) followed by a cup of tea which kept me up a few more nopix. But NOW I'm actually genuinely honestly for reals molpying down.

*Talking of "how I made it", I'm considering doing a "making of" video for this, like I did with Molpies, but way more in-depth, going into the orchestrations and doing guitars and things. Would that be of interest to anyone?

I tend to find once you reach a certain point into tomorrow there's no point molpying down, which means you actually stand a chance of molpying up at a more reasonable hour the next dip.

Yes of course it would you silly molpy.

Happy 1000th Yappobiscuits! Epic song! I cannot wait to see the making of (well, yes, actually, you know I can). You know, depending on how you decide to put that together, it could be the OTT's first Rock OTTumentary: This is Yappobiscuits.

@HES Great idea! An OTT Christmas album with songs like, Lucky the red clawed molpy, and I'm dreaming of a white New Frame.

Happy 1000, yappo! We're 1000-post twins

Awesomeful song, very fitting for such a milestone and suitably grandiose as well. I always enjoy your music but this one was particularly great :D

Advice taken, however, I think I'm still getting considerable more coma time than some of my peers - 7 hours per night, which is 2 less than the 9 hours I get on wip-ends, and I think is fairly healthy for someone my age.

I haven't done the underground tour, though I'd like to some time. I actually don't get over there too often, the only time we go to the touristy parts of Seattle is when we have family or friends over, and that's not very often.

Bonus present present: Orchestral version.

Holy ch*rp.

So I was listening to the Orchestral Version in my home office, and my son walked past the door down the hallway. He paused, turned around, and came in.

Turning to look at the blank TV screen on my wall, he asked, "What are you watching?"

He assumed he overheard the soundtrack to a movie or TV show and was interested in knowing what it was. :-)

Wonderful job, Yappo!

Seriously, the weird Beanie Babies are creeping me out. Someone tell me what's going on. :P

Those Beanie Parents just abandoning their weird tiny kids made me think of this song (for whatever reason):
Spoiler:
A not-OTTified-at-all song. Just a Girl I Used to Know by George Jones

There's a picture that I carry
One we made some time ago
If they ask who's in the picture with me
I say just a girl I used to know.

Just a girl I used to spend some time with
Just a friend from long ago
I don't talk about the nights I cry without her
I say just a girl I used to know.

--- Instrumental ---

I say she's just another girl now
Just a flame that's lost it's glow
And I say her name has slipped my mind now
Just a girl I used to know.

Just a girl I used to run around with
Just a friend from long ago
I don't talk about the night I cry without her
I say she's just a girl I used to know.

Just a girl I used to know...

And now. Image Image Image Image
Awesomeful job on the OTTercomics everyone. And the songs, THE SONGS! The pope-song above was treeishly epic, yappo. Of course we'd like a making-of video.

And will there be a rainbow at the end of the flood? Granted, it will look rather boring in monochrome...
