1500!

Postby yappobiscuits » Wed Sep 25, 2013 8:35 pm UTC

Yay! I look forward to it!

ETA: Whoa, my first Centapapacy! And half-millenipapacy too! Trust me not to have a decree handy for such a special occasion... or maybe, Decree: Wait for me to come up with a better decree.

ETA 2: Nah. Screw decrees. Just have a big 1500 party!

Ack Again!

I Molpied Down to get Time Travel and made the mistake of activating Chromatic Heresy. I am now experiencing Judgement Dip while having almost no resources. I can't keep up with it. I'd have to sell all of my NPB to survive. I tried turning off Chromatic Heresy but that didn't do anything, so maybe I am wrong in thinking the two are related.

Also, the Judgement Dip Warning is saying this:
Judgement dip is upon us! But it can get worse. The countdown is at 64,761NP

Act 2, Scene 11

At rise:A huge waterfall upstage dominates the scene - it is distant but of such gigantic proportions that it dwarfs everything on stage - an everpresent reminder of the majesty of creation, and of our place in it. Even at this distance, the mist from the cascading water is everywhere, lending a surreal and spiritual atmosphere to the proceedings about to begin. It is early morning - the sun's warm rays glint off of the falling water, and in the swirling mist a rainbow arches faintly over the cateract.
Spoiler:
Downstage right is a sandy area which borders a body of water, extreme stage right, with the suggestion that we are on an island, and the water extends from the waterfall and around into the audience.

There is a dais upstage, stage right of center, with three exquisitely carved chairs placed in front, and benches behind it, fit for the highest clerecy. Slightly stage left of this is a second dais - a place of honor for the BlitzGirls. It is furnished with ten beautiful seats, each with cloth embroidery in the cushions. Behind and to the left is one of the BlitzRockets - the one used by the Pope and second scribe, polished and bright.

Stage left, a platform has been erected for an orchestra (facing center stage); the kettledrums glisten in the warm, golden sunlight. There is a podium in front of the orchestra platform, and on it a music stand made of the finest gold scrollwork awaits its moment.

Laura Mae, dressed in her finest, steps up to the kettledrums, looks around warily, looks up, and apparently satisfied, makes a few adjustments to her instrument. Angelastic, also in high attire, steps up onto the orchestra platform with a seaish stick and sits down, fhorn comes in fron the other side and begins to unpack a gleaming French Horn, Valarya sits in one of the orchestra seats with a trumpet and starts fiddling with it. Other orchestra members begin filling up the platform; among them we can recognize NoMouse, Kazza3, ofvn2wv1872, and xpatiate, and soon an entire orchestra has formed. Despite the adventures of the recent wips, everyone's raiment is that of a high, festive, and at the same time solemn occasion. BlitzGirl leads the raft people, dressed in matching festive robes, onto the orchestra platform, where they form two rows behind the orchestra.

With everything set, a single, pure tone is heard from the orchestra, and soon all of the instruments are imitating that sound, each in their own way. While this is happening, the High Clerecy fills in the benches on the dais, and the Pope, the First Cleric, and the second scribe, and take their place at the trinity of benches in front of them. Their vestments are of the highest holy season, and the effect is striking. The BlitzGirls enter and take their place of honor on the second dais: PhoenixRising, Flado, Selcouth, Vytron, taixzo, CasCat, tman2nd, and thirds. The two seats in the center remains empty. The Knights Temporal follow, taking their place standing at attention behind the BlitzGirls. Three heralds take their separate places upstage with straight trumpets, adorned with festive banners. The sounds from the orchestra die down, and the heralds await the signal.

The conductor, yappobiscuits, strides up to the podium, places his score on the golden music stand, and looks over the chorus and orchestra. He then looks over at the Pope, who gives him a nod. The conductor looks at the first herald and gives him a nod, and the first herald puts the trumpet to his lips and sounds the call, an open fifth that carries all the way to the waterfall itself. As the echoes die down, the second herald sounds his instrument. The third herald echoes the call, and with a strong, swift gesture yappobiscuits leaps into the music - an overture [music # 14a] of epic proportions that blends elements of the Holy Tunes with other elements of the music from the Raft People.

The music comes to a quiet section, and yappo lifts his baton towards the choir of raft people, who begin their section [music # 14b]. Glorious Harmonies never before heard emanate from the choir, the orchestra fading into the background.
singing, the raft people wrote:Keipu glie, Glie na smopu vrathkalichi ho!
Bradvaii smopu glie ne haniam hierban tantam lo!
vrathna rhethatm tieniso,
nietha in kaliniam yo.
Bradva, bradvak, bradvaii smopu varba glie nootano!
The orchestra picks up the melody as the choir sings a haunting counterpoint, and when the music comes to a close, the Pope stands up.

The Pope wrote:Today, as we stand on this newly consecrated ground, in this endless mist of Holy Water, at the Dawn of a New Age, we have much to be thankful for. Time unwinds at its own pace, in its own way, for its own reasons. This time, Time has woven us together with a small group of people whom we now call our own, and who have also accepted us into their fold. Please welcome our newest members, saved from the sea by our very own HAL9000 computer, but also through the deep faith, love and hope of their two emissaries. Our ways are no doubt different, and our language certainly is, but like grains of sand in a sandcastle, each different from the other, these differences have made us stronger. I can truly say that without them, all would have been lost.
[Sound cue 52: music #14b-1 playback]
Glorious music is heard - it is a reprise of the a-capella version of the music the Raft People had sung. The raft people however are not singing it - it is coming from the heavens and from all around. BlitzGirl leads the raft people down to the front of the stage, where they kneel and face the Pope. The Pope himself kneels before them, bows his head, and in his best imitation of their language, says:
The Pope wrote:Smopu hvala vi dict amouah.

There is some tittering amongst the raft people. One of them, the woman who had originally run into BlitzGirl, rises and approaches the Pope.
the woman wrote:Smopu hvala nuvi dichte amwah. Smopu di vremka va.

The Pope looks up at her, and smiles broadly. BlitzGirl leads them back onto the orchestra platform, saying
BlitzGirl wrote:Kana li hala.
The Pope faces the crowd.
The Pope wrote:Smopu hvala nuvi dict amuah. Once I learn to pronounce it right, these will be words to live by. "We are greatly blessed to be among you." And we are greatly blessed to have found these new friends.

We also pay tribute this day to TheMinim, our newest BlitzGirl the Next, who on her quest found our new friends and helped ensure their safety. It is fitting that she should be the first BlitzGirl honored here in our new sanctuary. TheMinim, please arise and kneel.
There is a commotion in the crowd as TheMinim starts to come up onto the dais, and then stops and starts darting around.
TheMinim wrote:Corinne! Corinne, stop it - where did you go?
Corinne wrote:The Pope didn't mention me. Go ahead, take the honors. I'll wait here. Maybe.
TheMinim wrote:Stop it! You're always with me, you know that.
Corinne wrote:Not always.
The Pope looks around to see what the commotion is. TheMinim sees the Pope, and reluctantly goes up on the dais alone and kneels. The Pope raises his hand over TheMinim and says
ThePope wrote:TheMinim, in honor of your having set out with Corinne on a unique and very treeish BlitzQuest, drinking from the One True Thread in Holy Fulfillment as you experience Time in its own time, and writing a Holy Gospel in a manner and sequence that is usually the tao of poets, so by the power vested in me as Pope of the Order of the Holy Contradiction do I hereby consecrate both of you and bestow upon thee the title of BlitzGirl the Next, that it be known for all time and for all of Time that you have truly and properly Waited For It. Furthermore do I consecrate the Gospel of TheMinim, a True and Holy Record of your Quest, to be counted among the Holy Books, alongside the Gospel of BlitzGirl, and all the other gospels, that it provide inspiration to all who follow, and indeed, to all Timewaiters, for all time and all of Time.
There is great cheering in the crowd, and banners are waved in the usual manner, so as to avoid even the hint of rectiliear assumptions. TheMinim gets up and takes her place along with the other BlitzGirls. Corinne pokes his head up over TheMinim's head.
TheMinim wrote:Corinne! You're here!
Corinne wrote:I'm always here.
TheMinim wrote:Not always.
The trumpets sound [music # 15] and Pope continues:
ThePope wrote:And next, we honor RobIrr, the fossil BlitzGirl. Way back in the mists of the Beginning of Time, before BlitzGirl's quest, when the One True Comic was not yet recognized for what it was, and the One True Thread was still in formation, RobIrr Blitzed this One True Thread as it was coming together. This was even before there was a word for it. RobIrr, arise, and kneel!
RobIrr makes his way onto the dais, and the Pope holds his hands above RobIrr's head, and says
The Pope wrote: In honor and recognition of this truly prescient act, which occured not once but several times, by the power vested in me as Pope of the Order of the Holy Contradiction do I hereby consecrate you and bestow upon thee the new title BlitzGirl the Primordial, that it be known for all time, and for all of Time, that you have truly and properly Waited For It, and done so even before such a thing was known.
A great cheer goes up from the crowds, and at the conductor's signal, the trumpets sound a fanfare, [music # 16a] which the rest of the orchestra blossoms into a full fledged coronation hymn [music # 16b]. During the music, all the BlitzGirls stand as RobIrr makes his way to his place of honor at the center of the group.

The music dies down and the Pope speaks again.
The Pope wrote:And now that we have a place once again where our Glorious Music may sound in its Full Splendor, and in recognition of the splendid and multifaceted sonorities created by our own yappobiscuits, do I ask yappobiscuits to arise, come forth, and kneel.
While k.bookbinder smiles broadly and knowingly, yappobiscuits is taken somewhat by surprise. Recovering quickly, he steps off the podium and onto the dais, kneeling before the Pope. The Pope raises his hands above yappo's head, and proclaims:
The Pope wrote:As Pope of the Order of the Holy Contradiction, in recognition of the many and varied musical works you have created in the course of our journey through Time, and in homage to the beauty and inspiration that these works provide, do I hereby Bless and Consecrate you and all your musical works, and I bestow upon thee, yappobiscuits, the title of Mighty Troubadour, that it be known for all time, and for all of Time, that through your music you have made the world a more joyful place while we all Waited For It.
The orchestra spontaneously bursts into fanfare [music # 17] while yappobiscuits, somewhat dazed, rises, bows towards the Pope, and turns towards the crowd. As the music comes to a close, the crowd erupts with great cheering and curvy waving of banners, and yappobiscuits makes his way back to the podium, unable to conceal a big, ottish and otterish grin.
The Pope wrote:A new chapter opens now for the Order of the Holy Contradiction. Here, on this sacred ground, shall we build our new seminary and cathedral, that we continue to live by the Holy Teachings of Time even as we have reached the End Of Time. We should not look upon The End as solely a culmination, for it also truly a New Beginning, and we must honor it as we honor each other. Even now there are True Pilgrims of Time still out on their Holy Quest; they shall reach the Voldeframe and may wonder what, if anything comes next. They shall not have quested in vain, for we shall be here to welcome them, and together we shall forge a New Beginning, never forgetting the Past we have shared. Please join me in the Prayer of Strength for our Pilgrims of Time.

The Pope bows his head and, in the Most Holy and Ancient Tongue, begins the familiar litany:
The Pope wrote:In nomine unium verium auctor, in observatium uniae veriae comiciae, in servitum unium verium needlepullythingium, et sub occulae unium verium congretatii, nus aprae nu coeurii, nu almaii, et nu calendarii per adoramatem.
the congregation wrote:Mare cet grande. Nus aprae nusus ale Mare.
The Pope wrote:Ne adoramatemi, nus traeg des unium verium needlepullythingium. Ne adoramatemi altii, alqun dej de now, per invitare rio Time que pur et lave nus que totum full des toto pasati.
the congregation wrote:Rio cet peq. Que nus sum peqii, nus traeg, nus mus traeg, des Rio Time.
The Pope wrote:Ne humilite, per le favore qui benedictus Time le cai sub vijahii, Verium Pilgrae Time, hbarsquared, macraw83, LankieBlonde, kryton, karhell, WOnder93, Marsh'n, monkeygentleman, MistyCat, Bad Hair Man, Purplepants77, Maugrim, ergman, jetpac, jupo, rvloon, CatHectic, bmonk, Ray Kremer, isengrimthereckless, smolloy, kepstin, Dex, fireball, gement, PeterSheil, monkeygentleman, Maugrim, mrob27, kr4, et touts alles, qui set le lux, set le alt, et gette arbol vital.
the congregation wrote:Les arbol cette neat. Qui nus vitae le vale bon!
The Pope wrote:Qui si, qui molto si
[sound cue 7: gong]
The Pope wrote:Cest il ONG sanctimus. Dispersuit in pax, et adorasuit in awe.
the congregation wrote:In nomine unium verium auctor, in observatium uniae veriae comiciae, in servitum unium verium needlepullythingium.
The Pope wrote:Amen!
There is a moment of silence, and then on a cue from yappobiscuits, the choir begins a soft recessional hymn in their own, haunting tongue. The lights dim over most of the stage as the people disperse. The Pope and the second scribe remain behind. They walk together around the front of the stage, towards the edge of the sandy shore.
the second scribe wrote:Macraw83 - he is ok, isn't he?
The Pope wrote:He is fine. Time takes time, that's all. And when he returns, we will all be here to welcome him in our baobabish seminary.
the second scribe wrote:Thank you - that is so very comforting. Now this seminary - how do you envision it?
The Pope wrote:Let me show you.
The Pope kneels down and clears a little bit of space on the shore. The second scribe kneels down with him, and they start to shape a castle-like structure in the sand.

Curtain. End of act two

This isn't ketchup, since I've been reading along this whole time, but not having enough time to post anything means there's lots to respond to. Most of it will go away, but this one is important:

Newpix 5

Goggalor creates the first Time .gif, of the first 5 newpix.

People are mentioning possible sleep deprivation, needing to do things in the real world, a music piece that will take many years to perform, and reading into the title and title text.

Dr. Strings mentions Megan's hair changing and the comic possibly being time snaps or her not being the same. I note: This is definitely mustard. Eplicas thinks this could be intentional also:

Eplicas wrote:Ignoring how exactly he's doing this, one thing I've noticed between the images is that the drawing style is slightly different each time, while the position has been relatively the same save for the third picture. Perhaps this is a recollection of how he's become better at drawing and developed his style as time has gone on? The third picture could be a representation of the time when he used that style there perhaps were hard times between the two of them. Thoughts?

My thoughts are that we definitely didn't know much back then.

Ni ni ni ni ni chupacabra ping pong ball!
(I think I have ALL events of BtVS 'spoiled' and I've never watched any of it :P)

Anyhow after looking at the code I still don't know how my Blixtnedslag Kattungar, JA! level got so high before even buying it. Weird.
Anyhow I've made it so that for every kitty you miss it increases the countdown to the next, but it resets when you click one or click for sand. I think that should be reasonable.
Now to add a bunch of stuff and make a few things more expensive. I probably won't get the update in on page 1500 though :(

ETA: And it happened at noon EST.

It looks like it has missed a leter - A couple of hours ago (the same tme frame as this) the images in CB were all black for ~10 minutes. CB fetches the images from mscha's server - it is possible that the glitch is mscha's.

This is exactly why I mentioned the possibility of mustardiness. I had trouble connecting to mscha's site a bit before that time, though. Is anyone else keeping track of the epilogue frames?

ETA: It may very well be mustard. The three most recent frames are "CCD" which follow the pattern if one was omitted while the site was down.

Indeed, the mustard was my server's – or more accurately, its provider's. (Network downtime for a bit over an hour.) I manually added the missing epilogue frame (assuming that the GLR didn't coincidentally break the pattern for that nopix).

Happy ½th and 1500th, everyone!
