Well, a collection of mustard tools would be nice to start with. I can think of ROT13, ROTn, braille, morse, ASCII numbers, EBCDIC numbers, and backwards for starters. Font substitution might also be nice (for those who post in dingbats, not to be confused with posters who have gone dingbats!) The collection should then be referenced in the wiki for blitzers.

I'm being led to believe the OTT is sick. How to otherwise explain two (three?) unintended papacies of mine in a row? And I'm not even trying!

Also, six ONGs in a row. What a shame.

I'm almost done removing the jQuery dependencies from the map. I can almost feel those 200KiB+ being lifted from my shoulders. I can almost feel the chains breaking, the tubes unclogging, the birds singing.

Almost. Except for $.fn.slide{Up,Down}.

Months after writing the original map resizing code, I finally picked up a notebook to figure out what it does:
“Compute the new height as the current height of the map plus the difference of height between the page container and the window.”

And addams, how happy I would be to sound like you, but alas, my questions were much more limited in scope than yours; I was wondering specifically about these baobabs (bao)before us.
That is an interesting question about the time zones of Time. How would daylight savings factor in? Does it? It seems if we think of time zones as an approximation of longitude, it wouldn't, but if we are thinking of it as an estimate of who's awake when (Yappo excluded) it would. The reason I bring that up, is that we in the Southern hemisphere might bring extra time zones to the table: our daylight savings moves opposite to yours. Now, I am 3 nopix behind BlitzTime, but in 6 mips, I will be 5 nopix behind.

Chronogram from mrob27, NP1153 -> NP1734

Postby mrob27 » Tue Feb 04, 2014 10:16 am UTC

Chronogram from mrob27 — Origin: NP1153; Destination: NP1734

So much is happening in the OTC that it's a little hard to summarize. I'll have to get to that soon, but I also have more to say about the word-counts and related adjustments to my bots.

Recent Firstposts

In late Voyage or early Visitation Ja, due to server slowness (rated Image Image CH*RPCON 2) nopixbot and I decided to reload only the very latest Newpage, instead of the old practice of reloading the past 3 Newpages. As a result, we started missing firstposts. When a firstpost is approved, everything after it gets bumped and I end up with two copies of some later post. (Usually that's a post that had been a Goat and was bumped into Pope position by the approval of the firstpost.)
As I finished teaching nopixbot how to post its wordcount stats, I discovered that I was missing the recent firstpost by @SilentTimer. So I opened up nopixbot again and installed a few redundancy-detection circuits, so that he can ch*rp to me when he sees the same post twice (as opposed to merely seeing the same thing in two posts, which happens all the time  ). I had him reload Newpages as needed to make sure we aren't missing any goat that got pushed off its original page onto the next, and compiled this (possibly incomplete) list of recent firstposts:

In all cases, including the @kitnoki post, the approval happened within the next Newpage or two. This is not meant to be a complete list — there may well be some firstposts I missed because they were approved before the OTT went to another Newpage.
The @kitnoki post stands out because I didn't find the goat-pope duplicate until 7 NP later. For some reason, my copy of OTT was out of alignment with the server all the way from NP1621 through NP1628, as if some other post got added or deleted during that interval. I didn't bother to hunt down the details. However I remember for certain that during one of the server m*stards I saw an actual spam post created by the spambot(s) that were attacking the fora, then saw it go away when reloading the page. It wasn't in the OTT, it was in the thread for reporting server problems (I was reporting that xkcd 1193 "Externalities" was broken) so I suppose nopixbot might have had a spam post. Did anyone see spam in the OTT around that time? Or maybe someone new to the OTT did a double post and asked for one to be deleted.
Anyway, after making these adjustments the word counts have changed a little as compared to my previous post.
Please note that my bots are not routinely reloading old pages, so my word counts cannot be used as a way to detect when posts have been edited.

Meanwhile, as nopixbot was getting these upgrades imagebot felt a little left out — so I gave her a few new poetry algorithms. She's been helping me put together an extension of one of my previous works — which I will send in my next Time Capsule.

@mrob: I don't think I've seen any spam-posts in the OTT. I do remember that circa Newpage 1676 there was a flood of duplicate posts due to mustard, but that seems later than the section you identified.
@waveney: I think that it was mostly bags that helped the raftcastle float, but it's hard to tell.
@azule (?): Hurray, more of the StarryONGs! I'm excited to see more. :)
@SilentTimer: I think I guessed the TimerONGs (SilentONGs) were ending a little prematurely. The story continues! :D

Well, the activity charts that jjjdavidson (and others?) made do show that the OTT has definite up and down Times depending on which parts of the Outside world are experiencing diplight and night (because we don't have many OTTers living in Asia). The point about Time zones is interesting - I had forgotten that Southern Hemisphereans shift in a different savings direction than the Northerners.

That's true. We also haven't had many OTTers in-thread saying they were from Asia, at least that I can rememberHmm.
But we've certainly had some activity from Asia in the past, according to RobIrr's ClustrMap:

Image

Hmm If we don't get Time 2 at the end of AdventmipMarch, I may try reblitzing the OTT. Or schizoblitzing it. It's been a while.
March I'm working on properly learning the calendar standard (ni ni ni chupacapra savings Time) proposed by Jose.

So a rough translation for this azuleONG might be:
