Gingercat (who won't see this), you forgot to make a comment on my firefox tale that you quoted. I'm assuming it's a positive quoting and the comment would have reflected that. *shrug*

That would be great as an OdeTiTY.

In Soviet Russia, browser quits for you... with force. I mean, neato!

What a neat place to go. It seems wild. Please report back with lots of "Only in Japan" stuff!
No apology needed! My little one is actually four grandchildren - Da Bunny, the Lion, Little Bear, and the Mariposa. Little Bear lives with us and I take care of him while his mom's at work, so he gets the most airtime. I'm going to go back over my recent posts thinking of him as a wolpy and see how they sound that way
*phew* It was the "Little Bear",.. I thought I've heard that kind of thing for wolpies and hadn't heard you say something like "I clothed Little Bear in pajamas"...though, some wolpy owners do........ lol. Why is a bear a dog to me? Hah! Some people do own bears though...scary.

That is nice, init? Is that the work of a CDN? No..it's one file. Hmm. So why isn't the world full of such awesomeful servers? *first world problems*
mrob wrote:If someone tries to get a file at the same moment my bots are sending a new version of that file to the webserver, they might get a completely empty "file".
I never thought of that happening. (Just if someone got one new file version and no its new dependency version too.) I wonder if you can configure the server to refuse to serve that file until the new version is finished uploading.
ChrDr wrote:Perhaps true...but far more often on linux I find the "canned" solution involves fiddling with things I'd never thought about on Windows. For one, it's not a huge thing, but you have to be able to use a command line if you're on linux, whereas on Windows it's a rare event in most people's normal usage (most will assume you are a hacker if you open one on their computer). And there are so many command line utilities for linux that it would take months to memorize them all.
I find that to not be that true. The terminal is very helpful, and easier to copy and paste if sharing a solution than saying "go to this menu then this tab then click okay three times", which is probably why that's the "canned" solution.
I don't know if it was just me, but a lot of Windows solutions involved the Registry, which is a totally opaque environment with no manual pages or any help except through others. Knowing what you're doing is better than being told each time.
Ninja'd by slinches. Damn, that means I'm slower than a slug.
As for memorizing all the CLI apps...yeah, that's not gonna happen.

While that is true, pure numbers and all, it's probably also true about more unpatched security holes (for which I did see an actual statistic or two confirming this many moons ago). Even if it's just IE with the issues, that's a big issue because of that browser's integration into the OS. Summation: it's not just MS hating.

I recall her being open to our input, so it's your fault, HES.
I don't have a problem with the names (she did the work to distinguish them, dibs), but I'm sure if one of them is a problem for some reason, why not get it changed, I agree.
No offense to the Christians, but if these people are gracious enough to care after your pet while you're gone forever, wouldn't that qualify them for rapture themselves? It seems, to take the pessimistic outlook, that those pets are doomed to exist alone or with the bad people left on Earth then.
