The whole "Reddit Button" thing is nice, but the monitor is evil. So many pretty colorful moving lines. It feels more addictive than QO4B (and that's saying something).

Also, it does not work properly with timer values of over three digits:Image
(Fun fact: the first time it froze down like that on me, the tick counter said 13291, so I thought it was a deliberate reference. It unfroze before I figured out how to take a screenshot, unfortunately.)

Of course, I don't currently have a Reddit account (that I'm aware of), so I'm unable to participate in this whole button-clicking game anyway; but had I been able to, I would've tried to wait until the timer went down to 0, then, maybe, click. At current speed, of course, that isn't supposed to happen for a couple more weeks yet :D

Redundant:
Spoiler:

yes, that's a real screenshot, I didn't edit it at all - other than the crop anyway
(Sorry, no redundakitty.)
There are two films that I particularly like.
One of them is a science-fiction dramatic comedy involving a boy who accidentally travelled in time. Extremely popular when it originally came out in 1985, it retains a major cult following to this day.
The other one, of course, is Back to the Future.

I've found that the best company is the kind that makes you want to stay in bed all day, and the worst company is the kind that makes you want to stay in bed all day. The best company makes you resent the company you keep, and not keeping the company you have makes you the worst kind of company for others to seek out1046. Normally this is only a difficult problem to solve, but what if the terms are expanded, and you have to choose between very good and good vs perfect and badbinary? Do you choose the company that makes you want to stay in bed and the company that makes you afraid to leave your bed, or do you choose double neutrality? There's always the option of just never going to bed again - I've slept on couches, in recliners, in cars, closets, bathtubs, hallways - once you drift off it's all remarkably similar.

Yikes, that sound bag.

Yeah, more often than not, the Outside tends to be steambottlish. In my case it's an epsilon balance between molpish and steambottle: on one hand, I'm doing some treeish things, but on the other hand, I just go to university in the mornip and don't come bag home until in the evenip, dip in dip out. CONSIDER THE M&MS OF ᘝᓄᘈᖉᐣ

Postby mrob27 » Fri Apr 17, 2015 2:09 am UTC

This first bit about my avatar is mainly for the blitzers. During the recent Mod Madness 2015 I changed my avatar about 20 times.
Image

Some time prior to Madness I signed up for the FF00BF BFFs, and noted the warning (from last yip) that avatars might get changed. So I changed my avatar on purpose. That's the Minecraft-like image, #1 in the first row.
In keeping with the Terry Pratchett theme this year, the FF00BF group was called The Wee Free Men. They were encouraged to use an avatar based on cover artwork for the book by that name, and you can find the artwork easily with an image search. The central figure is Sarah "Granny" Aching, who I believe is "dressed as an ornamental shepherdess" (according to a Wikipedia article). I stuck a couple pink mrob27 avatars in with the Nac Mac Feegles themselves. Following the Borglike "assimilate all others" theme of the Empinkening game I then made an mrob27 avatar out of the outline-masked figures from the illustration (top row, #3), then found the original high-res artwork and made the version with all the heads turned into Image's.
I kept that one a while, gradually adding OTT-related elements: a molpy, the number "1190" in the abdominal section of Sarah's dress, and the sandcastle "rook".
Then I went through a series of gradually closer closeups of parts of the scene (first three avatars in 2nd row); the third includes "MOLPY" on a boat lifering.
Just after the end of Madness there was an exchange with @Eternal Density involving lime-green text, and I made a lime-green version of @ED's avatar and used it for a little while. Then I switched to the lime version of the thing I had originally planned, a closeup of Granny Aching's mrob27-ised head. The rest are just a gradual transition back to my original (and present) avatar, which is at the end of the 3rd row. The fade was inspired by what @ggh did last yip with the yellow banana slug.

january1may wrote: The whole "Reddit Button" thing is nice, but the monitor is evil. So many pretty colorful moving lines. It feels more addictive than QO4B (and that's saying something).

But how do I play? If all I can do is watch it, then I get bored. I guess you're pointing out that watching it is really fun, thus addictive. I guess that's true (for some viewers).
I'll mention again that reddit is too "transient and superficial" for my tastes, and it's hard to read only the comments that I haven't yet read. In any given subreddit, there is a list of top-voted posts. I have to laboriously view each of those posts to see any new comments. Each post has a little thing that says "123 comments" which you can click on to see the comments that have been made on that particular post. It's hard to get it to show me only the comments that I haven't yet seen. How many is that anyway? Maybe I've seen 76 of the 123 comments, so there are 47 that I haven't seen. I can order the comments newest-first, but that doesn't do the job because they're still arranged in a hierarchical outline format (each comment always appears after the comment to which is is a reply) so there'll be some stuff that I've already read among the top 47 items on my screen, and some of the 47 items I haven't read will be further down.

How's this?

Postby AluisioASG » Fri Apr 17, 2015 3:04 am UTC

AHHH! Once again this fly
Can't you see your puns will lead us to cry?
I'll put the thread on course
Before we end up beating that old horse
Spoiler:

I coma into a bag dream
Nothing on my side
for six hundred
But I don't think it's time to punsaw them
Let's wait for a new newpage

Why do I twitch my face
when I am the root of this chirping rage?
Oh, how long to the bitter end?
When the Great Punsaw I'll befriend

I coma into a bag dream
Nothing on my side
for six hundred
But I don't think it's time to punsaw them
Let's wait for a new newpage
They're my friends
who I wish I could enlighten
But it's long gone
Yeah it's way past that
Yeah

When did we grow
to enjoy this dough?
If I had a mace
I'd prune this tree to it's base

I coma into a bag dream
Nothing on my side
for six hundred
But I don't think it's time to punsaw them
Let's wait for a new newpage
They're my friends
who I wish I could enlighten
But it's long gone
Yeah it's way past that
Yeah
Selecting new quote…

It does appear to be very bag code.

I think Reddit Gold lets you hide posts you've viewed already. Probably doesn't work on comments.
