Poor hamply Image

Will you get another day off soon? Hope the rest of your day was molpish.

Also, what is the deal with Doris Day? As GnomeAnne pointed out, her birthidip isn't until April, so I am equally puzzled.
In a comically tragic turn of events, Addams didn't die. You can help her here.

Does the basement ever end?

New othercomic. (It turns out, however, that other-non-comics have not resumed updating as regularly as I recently hoped. We will continue to Wait For If It.)

By the way, I have resolved now to wikify stuff from recent newpages only when they are at least five newpages in the past. This should give other OTTers more of an opportunity to wikify recently posted material, because I am concerned that my thoroughness in doing so may have dissuaded potential wiki-collaborators who would otherwise have taken over a share of the wiki-work. In the meantime, I can schizoblitz other pages deeper in the thread's past and look there for things that haven't been wikified yet.

If you need help understanding what's going on there, the xkcd Time Wiki may be useful.

Just a quick blindpost to let you know that the Horrible Carpenter from Hell did sue me.

I'll admit that the man has guts, but it seems that he has no brains. If I do lose the case, I can afford to pay the limited amount. If I win, on the other hand, there is a real chance that I can get much more money back.

Now, if I only had an elder sister who were a judge and could give me some legal advice... Wait a minute, that's exactly what I have. She is not an expert on consumer rights, but it sure feels good to have her on my side.

For example, she has already told me that my accurate phrase,

The plaintiff lies like an elephant stampedes.

would not be well received by the court.

Now, I have two weeks to give a written reply to the court. And after that, I'll just have to, you know,
Spoiler:
order a custom-made punching ball with the plaintiff's portrait.

If I had a shed, it may well have gone elsewhere yesterday.

In the grand scheme of things, the storm could have been worse ("only" one fatality nationwide), but it did have the effect of completely shutting down the train network. I was at the second busiest station in the country, my sister at the first, and it was chaos. The disruption was exacerbated by the fact that it only got bad around midday - so most people went to work as normal in the morning before getting stranded. Had it been bad in the morning, people could have worked from home. Neither of us slept where intended last night.

Call your other friend.

You started a private chat with artificialPerpendicularity (AP).
B: Hi
AP: Hi, what's new on the moon? :)
B: nothing special, my perpendicular friend.
AP: So what brings you to me?
B: I'd like to ask:
B: Would you be interested in playing a game?

Another chat started. Let's see what it brings.

Wow, b is pretty single-minded.
No asking TLF any probing questions.
No google search for solar computers.
No looking at the ogloc.ctif.txt file TLF sent him.
Just ask the next guy to play the game.

The Weather Report:

It is Cold.
I can hear The Breakers.

The Breakers are still rolling in and crashing against the shore,
They were generated far out at Sea by that last Storm System.

EDIT: The first light of dawn brings light to
the return of a steady rain... It's Raining!!

The Rain reminds me of an old Movie.
Spoiler:
Long, long ago, before Technicolor, I watched a dark movie.
There may have been color, but the movie was dark.

The name of the movie was, 'The Tattooed Man'.
It was a series of short stories based on his tattoos.

One was about a watery planet with man made structured named, 'Sun Domes'.
Without the 'Sun Domes' the rain drove humans Mad. Mad! I tell you! Mad!

This rain is not driving me Mad.
I don't like driving in this rain.

This rain has undermined the foundations of some of our roads.

Balthasar; Why Do you keep asking to play a computer game?

In real life;
I'm not very interested in playing games.
So, it happens in the other direction.
Someone asks me to play
and most often I'm not interested.

But, in BSTA.
why does he want to play?
Maybe that's because he noticed the games when he was told to examine the desk,
and he knows that in a story things are not just lying around on desks.
Maybe he decided that it's important for the plot?
Maybe the narrator told him?
Or not. I don't know. Didn't ask.

Wait for it and see what happens.

No problem, there's a red switch on the balthabike. It uses the whirly things to connect to a secret organ on the moon so we can communicate.

That's a coincidence. I, too, have a secret organ

Facebug video link: Otters have many talents, but I hadn't been aware of that one. (A friend who is aware of the OTT and my participation in it sent me the link.)

Molpyup!
I'm back from my trip, it was very molpish. Having ketched up, I'm glad to hear that everyOTTer withstood the weather and is back home safe and sound.

This is taking place in 2015, no? It seems strange that all the characters think of "the Internet" as a sort of fringe phenomenon.

AP: I do have access to the internet but not directly.
B: And you're talking to me how?
AP: I use the CT card.
B: Ok, I remember. You told it's kind of like wifi, right.
AP: Kind of, you could say that and you wouldn't be completely wrong.
B: Does it have anything to do with the ctif?
AP: It has very much to do. The CT card is a device which implements the ctif protocol.
B: So you're also using ctif in coincidence?
AP: Yes. but,
AP: What does your "also" mean?
B: I talked with my friend today.
B: She also has a ctif coincidence and no internets.
AP: She has a ct card too?
B: Yeah, looks like it.
AP: Where did she get it?
B: Found it with the computer, I think.
AP: She just FOUND a CT card? She's really lucky!
B: That's her name, actually.
AP: ???
B: She uses the name "theLuckyFinder" on coincidence.
AP: I never saw this name before.
AP: And there aren't many new people.
AP: Maybe she blacklisted me for some reason.
B: No idea.
B: If only ctif was internet-compatible...
AP: This could be done, kind of, with TIOC.
AP: If you manage to install it.

TIOC?

I am not getting any less confused.

Hi, friends. You might want to send some molpish thoughts, and even prayers if you wish, to our Addams. She had complications from her treatment and is apparently quite sick. She has to stay in the hospital for a few more days. I don't know exactly what's wrong, though.
