Just dropping in as I haven't in a while, just to avoid full on basementation again... my play opens in a week's time so everything's rather hectic with that right now and everything else in life is getting neglected, hence the lack of otting. Only a week left and only three rehearsals and I still have a chirp-ton of music to make for it, so stress levels are high right now. But still just wanted to pop in here for a little break from the stress...

To the faraway mountains...
I could've sworn I once ottified that...
Ah yes, just

Hahahaaa yes! Their songs are amusing, I love how they use deliberately bad grammar sometimes, making fun of European power metal bands who often accidentally use bad grammar as English isn't their first language. But English is Gloryhammer's first language, they just do it deliberately as a homage/parody of those bands

Such as the phrase in one of their songs "an epic war was fight" which I always giggle at.
Ahh I love Wintergatan, I find them such an inspiration with their clever custom instruments. It was mainly them that inspired me to get
my own programmable music box.macraw83 wrote:GnomeAnne wrote:But right now I have 'Quest for the hammer of glory' stuck running around in my head because I listened to it seven or eight times in a row a few days ago.
Fun fact: Gloryhammer (the band that plays 'Quest for the Hammer of Glory', in case that wasn't clear) is only about 3 Degrees of Separation on Wikipedia from Mr. Biscuits' band, Iron Seawolpy:
- The sidebar on their Wikipedia page lists "Alestorm" as an associated actB
- Alestorm's page list them as being in the "Pirate Metal" genre
- The page for Pirate Metal has a list of bands, including "Iron Seawolf"H
This is true! The drummer of Gloryhammer is also the drummer of Jaldaboath, who we once opened for. In addition, we're only one degree of seperation (in terms of bands we've gigged with) from Alestorm, as we've toured with Red Rum who toured with them, and a month ago we also played a gig with Lagerstein who were the main support on that tour.
(Also, the reason Alestorm are an "associated act" with Gloryhammer is more to do with Alestorm's frontman also being Gloryhammer's keyboardist, more so than just them being on the same record label

)
