There was someone already inside.

We finally meet FTH.
I wonder, was he sitting in the car waiting the whole Tim we played on the piano?

The model of the car (or breakdown truck) is precisely recognizable, by the way. It is a FSO Polonez in pickup version, similar to the one in this picture (but with a different rear body).

Seems to me balthacar always does a steakish job of drawing vehicles. I've never really had that talent so I admire those who make it look easy.

Go!
Image

You started the trip towards the city.
You will spend over 1 hour in the car.

What will you do in this time?

If there were still any doubts that this is fth's car, the numberplate should make it finally clear.

Given that the first picture of the car appeared a wip ago and I had already recognized the model even then, not really... The semi-frontal view makes it much clearer, though.

And now something suitably molpish, I hope, as a present for you all on the occasion of this RNM. The ottified mini-musical is complete!

The Girl With the French Beret
Three Scenes From A Mini-Musical
(based on "The Girl With The Golden Hair" by ABBA)

1. Thank You For The Castle

2. I Wonder (Departure by Raftcastle)

and finally...

3. I Am La Petite
(based on "I'm A Marionette" by ABBA)

Spoiler:
It's the sea, that's what everybody's telling me
It is big and will be doing whatever it wants to be

Something's wrong, water where it never did belong
Will the raft still float with our whole tribe on its deck in a throng?

I am La Petite, call me La Petite, and I float
I am La Petite, it is really neat on my raftcastleboat
I am La Petite, would you be so sweet, help me stop
I am La Petite, I am La Petite, throw me a rope with a knot

Time to go, it's the end of this old place we know
Though the grown-ups still will tell themselves it surely can't be so

(extended instrumental section)

They came back, found out why the sea went off its track
Been through many things, survived a real dangerous cat attack

I am La Petite, call me La Petite, and we float
I am La Petite, it is pretty neat on our raftcastleboat
I am La Petite, and we seem to be speeding up
I am La Petite, sand from by the sea saved on our rooftop

On our way, home was swallowed by the sea today
Life will never be the same again, hope we'll all be okay

I am La Petite, call me La Petite, and we float
I am La Petite, it's still kinda neat on our raftcastleboat
I am La Petite, I hear Cueball sees land is near
I am La Petite, ground below my feet, let's find out what is here

It's the sea, that's what Meg and Cue are telling me
It is bigger than we thought, and came back where it used to be

Yes, they belong in a different order than I originally posted them in.

Rough semi-literal translation: "Be cured, wise one, by using the ass of a bun(ny). Heal well so you can become older." Thank you molpishly for another meta-OTTy! It's a treeish compliment!

What else does the plate say?

Assuming that at least the district indicators are the same in our world and the world of bsta, the car appears to be registered in the Nysa district. Further assuming that Wrocław is their destination, that's some 85 km or 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 hours away by car - if they are setting out from where the car is registered.

GnomeAnne wrote:I wonder if we could OTTify the entire musical and animate it using stick figures.

That was the whole mini-musical - as published on audio. It was only ever performed by ABBA in their live concerts around 1977, where it contained one more song ("Get On The Carousel"), but that was never put on a record (presumably because it doesn't work so well out of context), there are parts of it contained in ABBA: The Movie and there are some bootleg recordings from the concerts, that's all... hmmm...

Ch*irp it! Now I need to do that one too, but that one's a bit harder to figure out because the lyrics I can find online don't quite match the available recordings.

Steakish OTTercomic, Balthasar!

The most molpish (or the molpishest, or both) of thoughts for your dad, Laura Mae!

And baobabish punem, Jose! (But what is a punem? Google-fu has failed me there.)

What I'm assumed GnomeAnne ws going for was a punny poem = a punem. But I could be wrong. You know what they say about assuming:

One problem. how do you know if a particular assumption will be a bad idea. You don't. you have to assume that it's a bad idea. But doing that is a bad idea too. At least, that's what I assumed.

We don't have a definition. But we have an example. Now wait for more examples and extrapolate.

Of course, duh! I had already figured it had to be a portmanteau word, but I had been searching the wrong category of my English vocabulary: I had tried and failed to think of words for specific styles of poems ending in "-em" and completely missed that the more general term was already a perfect match.

Joe: Now we should make a choice, I think. What will we need?
Joe: But what will this cost us? I don't see any prices or values.
Joe: Maybe nothing?
Joe: I don't think so.
Joe: Anyway, let's continue.
Joe: How do we proceed?
Joe: I don't really know. I was hoping that you will have an idea.
Joe: Unfortunately, I know less than you. There is no instruction attached to it?
Joe: No.
Joe: It would be nice to have a manual.
Joe: Well, on page 41 there is a "The Guide To Effective Usage Of Object Catalogues"...
Joe: We would know how to order objects if we had this manual?
Joe: Hopefully.
Joe: And we would have the manual if we knew how to retrieve objects?
Joe: Yeah...

Wait For It.

Joe: From our uncle.
