No but it was easy to google it.

And Know Your Meme is a good resource too. So now I have [heresey]another web comic[/heresy] to check out.

Neither is it easy to google nor is Know Your Meme of any help. So quit beating around the bush and spill the beans already, I've got 171 NP to blitz and no Time to spare for such games

Eternal Density does not understand. It took him about 5 seconds to type 413 into his awesomebar and read the first google result, which is correct. (Though he does now remember than the ordering of results is individualised. Though on the other hand he has never read or searched for the webcomic in question before.)

[edit] Whoops, he has accidentally become pope!

He has edited his papal decree because others correctly pointed out the nuisance creates to those who are attempting to read the results. He now decrees that third person be used exclusively, and beneficently allows posters to edit their posts into a more readable format, as he is doing now.

trolleypup, thanks for reminding me of something else I wanted to comment on. This:
fhorn wrote:Nope, it came from the Rhinemaidens. They were supposed to be guarding it, and Alberich tricked them and stole it. (although he was a dwarf, so there is a connection there.) YOU HAD ONE JOB, RHINEMAIDENS, WHAT THE HELL.

made me laugh so hard. Good thing I was alone in the office.

I googled "413" and what I think you were referring to was five entries down. I had never heard of the comic, but know it was mentioned in this thread, so I'm assuming that's what you meant.

I'm gonna pretend I didn't see the papal decree...can we go back to "in my pants"?

And it's my 300th post! Have some cake in honor of our deceased fluttermolpy:

I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I'll have to defy papal decree for this page for the sake of readability. Just as an idea, maybe people would be more willing to obey if the decree were to maximize vowels (i.e. find synonyms that have more vowels)? It would be more readable, and perhaps more interesting in my pants.

The decrees are getting a little too invasive... You don't have to obey them, but it just makes reading the page harder.
I think they should be softened to things like "I decree that every coma well tonight, and hallucinate silhouetted, 3,4,8dreams. "
And things of that nature.

lmjb always just assumed the avatar was just split in thirds. Is there something else?

It's true anyone is free to ignore papal decrees. The problem is that other people will follow it and one ends up with a bunch of posts that are hard to read. And because one knows how fantastic everyone's posts are, one never wants to skip any. It makes it really hard for people who have limited time to spend on the OTT.

The other side of that is, if people are going along with the decree, they must be finding it entertaining. If that's the case, going along with it for a page, or skimming that page and only reading the legible posts, lets those people have their fun. The next page we'll move on to something else.

lmjb does think it is important to not make the thread harder for people to read. But ultimately it goes back to being thoughtful and considerate of one's fellow TImeWaiters, in whatever way one can. And remember the poor blitzers!! *hugs* *puppies* *rainbows*

And of course, BlitzGirl was right: Don't worry, feed squirpys.

Neil_Boekend really likes this second Papal Decree. It adds the right amount of weirdness. Neil must consider it for a round of "Kingen", it would cause much drinking.
Neil also likes the fact that the first decree was solved quite peacefully, despite mscha's rudeness (unless he meant "under a rock". Yes he probably meant "under a rock". lalalala I won't listen if you tell me it was something else. lalala.). Again a nice example of how people try to defuse a flamewar before it gets out of hand. Thank you Eternal Density for that wisdom.
If this situation had not arisen during Neil's coma Neil might have started it himself. These things are hard to predict while it's clear it won't work after a few posts.
