azule wrote: Be especially proud of me because I did all that coding offline. No help from google/ddg! I'm curious as to which thing you do not know. I don't recall doing too much except for strings and loops.

You fetch a textfile from a URL and read it one line at a time (I have so far only cut-and-pasted something that reads a binary file as one big block) and you do a lot of regular expressions to parse its format (I so far have only done if(str.match(/foo.*bar/)) to do a true-or-false match test, and str.split(":") to break up a string that consists of non-colon stuff separated by colons.
(Fun fact: in the early days of computing, when I was learning a new language for the first time the manual would often feature definitions of the form "A ______ is a sequence of non-blank characters possibly separated by blanks." I wasn't sure if I had learned anything, but apparently my profs thought I had. Ahh, life was simple then.)

Still in the progress of emulating everything the .pl script does. :)

At least I've stopped adding more, for now. I'd be interested in finding out if JavaScript can take a string from the meme definition and use it in a regexp search and replace. In Perl you need to use "eval" but JS might just allow using a variable as the regexp.
In 2004, unknown to me, a student in Hong Kong turned my large and complex calculator program Hypercalc into JavaScript. In Perl, I implemented a complete tokenizer and parser using nothing but regular expressions. The fact that this was possible in JavaScript was a surprise to me. I guess someday I should look at it, then I could learn how to do lots of cool stuff in JavaScript.

Thanks for the memes; I'm starting to add some of them to my version :D

Edit: fix a typo, and restore comment at the end which I lost in a previous edit.

Molpy up, as is my new Time Accessor, named "Organized_Sand"
Thanks for all the help, I've got mine in mostly pure Win 8.1, and MSWFP's with ClassicShell and a few other helpful features. I still have more to do with both, but good progress was made. I have re-blitzed Zanclean Zodiac to see what I missed, not much, just pretty much the whole thing. Amazing how much difference a new/better screen makes.

I've promised the Wolpies a walk in the woods today. Yesterday they had a nice swim. Largest wolpy even retrieved both bumpers at once, leaving middle-sized wolpy swimming around waiting until we could get hers back out to her.

A "bumper" is an air-filled rubber buoy that floats on the water. Riverish bumpers are great fetch-toys for retriever-wolpies:

Image

(Raftcastlers place seaish bumpers between the raftcastle and the dock, so the raftcastle only bumps into the squishy rubber instead of scraping against the dock when the sea moves.)
