On Windows 8: wait if you can. The August update is rumored to bring the start menu back (with embedded tiles).

My last post was on a page I was pope. How appropriate.

We didn't get a picture of the weird vulturaptor, did we?

Something from what I'm working on:
Clothes? I don't need no stinking clothes. Just a hat.

I guess I taught her well. For the opposite climate.

Spoiler:

That almost looks like a beanie.

Wait, is that a vulturaptor or just vulturaptormeal?

I got some (two) nice quotes from the Freeze Peach thread. I may use one of them if someone asks the right question after the right chapter.

ChronosDragon wrote:I don't want your ch*rpin raptorcats, what am I supposed to do with these!?

I'm sure there are competitions of chirping(1) things.

ggh wrote:and how she came from a not-very-hopeful-looking round of IVF, after a more-promising round didn't get anywhere.

Not sure why, but rereading this makes me think of Benjamin Button.
Oh, did you see the movie? I did, quite some time ago. I remember there was a clock.

BlueCrab wrote:ETA: Ack, premature submitulation - how embarrassing, I got semencancercoffeebabies everywhere...

Did azule get here yet?

SBN wrote:I didn't even know woolpies could count.

They do, if you ask them nicely.

TheMinim, where are you?

ChronosDragon wrote:Post your interpretations of ordinary concepts as DnD monsters!

IIRC you're supposed to have friends to play DnD with.
Unless you're talking about Drag-and-Drop.

I said before I wouldn't stop posting. I'm sorry. It seems I can't help myself on that regard.
What was I planning anyway? Starting something on a random post number?

ucim wrote:I'm not spending my time playing that ch*rpy QBwhatever game, no, […] That's what I was doing. Yes, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I hope you're done by now. I'll be needing you.

BlitzGirl wrote:Naturally.

That's, like, the second time you only say that in 2, 3 NPs.

BlitzGirl wrote:Probably because the Old Ones couldn't agree on a standard* spelling of diarrhea.

I can't claim having a good memory, but as an Old One, I don't recall ever seeing that proposition.

It seems Ms. Frizzle is a polyglot.

On alarms and ringtones: dunno what's my current ringtone. If I configured it, it's a loop-friendly version of the Fringe intro theme. The alarm switches between HTDA's “The Wake-Up” and NIN's “The Four of Us Are Dying”. I don't like voice or full-power-startup on my alarms.

macraw83 wrote:Also, I found that, if you hit 'f' and '5' on your leopard simultaneously and hold them, it acts the same as clicking reeeeeeeeeeeeeally fast, since it seems that Windows reads that as very fast alternation between the two keys.

I can only get 5s.

Does anyone else have a problem with Windows 8's search function being unbearably slow?

Wow... a river? Or sea?

Ooh, todip is my one yip OTTiversary! It would be fitting to quote my firstpost:
One yip ago on NP 435, yappobiscuits wrote:Long time lurker and follower of the OTC since the beginning... registered and broke my lurking streak purely because I felt it would be wrong given the current events of Time (and the fact a playlist is being put together) for someone not to link to the magnificent song "Time" by Finnish metal legends Wintersun. However as a newbie I can't post links, but I strongly suggest you look it up...

TIME! FADES AWAY!
When time fades away
And I'll never be the same...

Wintersun clearly prophecised the One True Comic...

I have since then linked to the song but it seems appropriate to do so again!

BLESS YOU, CUEGAN. BLUEGAN.

Postby mrob27 » Mon Apr 28, 2014 4:46 am UTC

Whether 'tis river or sea, 'tis blue.

Image

Edit: There are also little blue bits in the roots of all the swamp grasses (or whatever they are) in the previous scene (e.g. t1i-0972) before the camera angle changed, and in the scene before that (t1i-0968) but not in the scene (t1i-0965) when they were leaving the cave and Cueball was asking why.
Edit2: Correct the comment in the attachment upload: I changed the gamma, not the exposure.

Spoiler:
t1i-0973-enhanced.png
TimeAfterTime frame t1i-0973, with altered gamma to increase contrast at the dark end, at the expense of the light end.

For those already read this far during the time since this Newpage started, but prior to when I am making this post, I'll point out that @AluisioASG has filled in his placeholder at the top of the page with a rather extensive post. And for posterity, the original content of the placeholder:

I've been hearing the sounds of upholstery work in the Basement... I fear they are preparing a special form of inquisition for hotdog vendors :?

balthablitzer wrote: I was playing Q04B some time ago. At some point I had One towerer and almost the second one. Then I looked at the row below the gamefield. There was only one place left. "Wow, it's almost the end!" Then I played until I wast just 1 Cueball away from having the next tile. Then, after a great cascade . . . Beanies! And still one place left! Evil! :D

Kinda eeeevil , and kinda just limited by space  You're playing in the wide view, where there is room for 7 full-size tiles and 14 half-size tiles used for the badge row. So when you get the 15th badge, the lowest one (Cueball) goes away to make room for the new one.
On narrower views (most smartphones), I use somewhat bigger badges because that's what you have to do on a really small screen. So there is room for 10 badges, and Cueball disappears as soon as you reach Grapevine.

AluisioASG wrote: I see this newpage will be quite unseeable for me and Neil_Boekend.

I have your stylesheet (I switch stylesheets when needed to see how things look to other readers) and I see what you mean... The current gray colour #282828 is pretty darn close to the body background-color: #262626 in your stylesheet. ...
... which reminds me, I need to figure out how to enhance my userscript that reveals "light" text, such that it automatically figures out the background colour applied by a stylesheet. Is that even possible? My browser's "inspect element" command seems incapable of revealing what a user stylesheet is doing to the background...

It probably looks fine: Here's a sample:

It all depends on how well your eyes handle light-on-dark text. Of course, that's the main reason for choosing light-on-dark in the first place. I can read it just fine, and it's great at night when the room lights are off.

Okay, good. Thanks! :) I just wanted to check to make sure I wasn't evoking Darkstylus Annoyus by accident.

I remember blitzing during the Fading and having to highlight the text of posts that were nigh-impossible to see against the default prosilver background. If anymolpy finds this Fadingtext obnoxious, please do let me know. I think we have about a dip and a half of Fading left to go, so it will be over soon.

Oh yes, Glass Ceilings are one of the many treeish mini-games within SB. I call that the Chinese Linking Rings (it's also called Spinout or Baguenaudier).
I agree, that puzzle, as well as Tower of Hanoi, and anything isomorphic to a fractal or Hilbert boundary traversal, is very much like 2048.

French for "Time-waster" (RELATED, see?).
Yeah I based it off a puzzle very similar to the Chinese rings pictured there, though the one I have is on a plastic (plexiglass perhaps?) base rather than attached to another metal rod. I think I posted some pics of it a while back.

Also is anyone else getting 408 errors from the forum, or is it just me?

Keught up. After losing quite a bit of Time too a certain hotdog, I figured I better just blitz to the present or I'd be permanently in the past. So, coma schedule is completely yappocized, but my microblitz is complete. I'll try to respond to things later, but for now I must coma.

Well, I just watched through the SilentONGs, and I am impressed, SilentTimer. There was some talk earlier of dividing them into periods and eras, but it hasn't happened yet, so here's my proposal. I think some of the periods could still be divided further, and I don't have names for all of them, so feel free to modify it, anybody.

Arrival Era
0000-0019: Beanie Period
0020-0195: The Panning
0196-0208: The Flood
0209-0227: The Arrival
0228-0239: New Home Period
0240-0245: The Short Night
0246-0266: Setting Out

Exploration Era
0267-0339: ?
0340-0370: The Crazy Period
0371-0398: ?
0399-0417: Cairn at the Top
0418-0448: Little Castle Period
0449-0457: The Telescope
0458-0547: ?
0548-0576: The Other Mountain
0577-0585: LaPetite at the Raft
0586-0619: ?
0620-0630: Tsee-Chirp

Blue Cave Era
0631-0647
0648-0680: The Blue Cave
0681-0692: The Beanies Arrive
0693-0763: Saving Brokebean
0764-0830: What's inside the cave?
0831-0838: The Short Night
0839-0850: Good Morning

??? Era
0851-0884: ?
0885-0901: Snake in the Tree
0902-0937: ?
0938-0947: The Other Direction
0948-0972: Quest of the Questionable Carcass
0973-present: ?

Some other observations as I watched:
Megball were talking about reaching a bigger island. I wonder if they'll ever get there?
Does Ms. Frizzle now think the word for carcass is "ugh" and the word for bird is "neat"?

Blindposting from page 942, NP2373.

I tried Blitzing, way back in August and September 2013, and made significant progress... and then stopped. I was too busy, life caught up with me, I was feeling overwhelmed, for one reason or another I no longer read the OTT.

Well, I'm back. The thread is even longer now, and for some reason continues growing. But I'm reading.

Love you guys. See you in the future.

Neat! That's seaish, but it's probably a river or lake, not the sea. There seem to be a lot of raptors about.

Steakish title-text catch,
Earthling! It changed at the "Wow" frame. And I love the Overlord Lucky!
