We came so close to giving you a perfect page - sorry, pope oldpixbot!

ETA: So an example of something: the two UNGs that were just posted by the Mome... originally, pope mscha of NP449 got the old faded frame at the top of the hour (scary!), and KarMann onged it second on that page when it came through a minute late. The next ong, in which Cuegan appeared, was onged by Jonas79 halfway down NP 451 - 100 posts in a newpix!

ETA2: I think I might add some celebratory cookies here, but not until I wake up. :)

ETA3: Sorry, I failed to do that.

Or so my psychiatrist says anyway.

I see a gholpy wearing a halo and taking a bow.

Oh, that's right, I wanted to comment on ggh's creepy story. That was sounded like a full-fledged horror story for a while. Gotta agree that the shower is not where I would go if I thought something creepy was happening, though. Have you never seen Psycho? You'd be that person in the movie that everyone would be yelling at, "Don't go into the shower!"

And thanks for sharing the etymology of Little Wonder. Very sweet. :)

Forgot to say, yes. Having quite recently experienced a real life fading, and previously mentioned a similar theory. Though I think realistically it's a bizarre weather phenomenon called a "scene transition".

Thanks for handling that, June Bug! I was busy making something for post 6000, an epilogue poem using the Second Sequence of the Oughts, EDBADECBCBAECBDADCDCDBED. Thank you all for the well-wishes and thanks for making this a wildly wonderful place to be. Image

We

We aren't so easily explained

A sea of memories I could recite
A song we've sung at our own rate
A story to which we've given birth
Moments of joy, of care, of fright

We are so vast, yet still contained

To craft a thing new to this world
And leave it to the whims of fate
A path before us soon unfurled
Of unseen wonders, new estate

Experience of boundless worth
And as our ignorances drained
Behind our eyes new rivers swirled

Our voices' echo in canyons great
Cries of the young soon to take flight
Shy creatures' rustles against the earth
The shimmer of wings just out of sight

We learned as skies above us twirled
The sounds of stars in longest night
Beside you I slept soundly curled
And left with you at journey's light

This life with you was worth the wait
The time we've spent now time we've gained
We see a future, cool and bright

BlitzGirl wrote:The custom of self-knighting is actually outdated, a relic from the pix before my blitz ended. The practice was ceased because of worries it could be exploited. I'm pretty sure the current custom is that any Knight Temporal can knight others, though nobody has actually asked to be knighted on a newpage since the mid-500s. I was the one to knight mathrec and Angelastic, and I think that StratPlayer did a knighting for someone at one point, too.

So, if any of y'all want to be Knights Temporal, just let me or one of the other Knights know. :)

If normal knightings use swords, do ours use punsaws? I'll defer the duties to an existing Knight Temporal, which may include an already-knighted monkeygentleman from the future because, randamnit, if it was okay in the past it must be okay in the future. You know, timey-wimey etc.

Wait, I'm not a knight am I? I'm sure I would notice a suit of armour lying around...
