Huh. I thought I detected a mentally-aligned Timeripple when the thought occurred to me a few pages back; it was a seminot semenated-alien concept when it occurred, and now I know why:

It was not original to me; it rippled back from a close futurepast.

Fascinating.

The Now, and newpages long since made.
But which to wander? In my head
Current posting, the past unread,
Meant I would not be long delayed.

But lack context? I wouldn't dare -
So back into the past I went.
The One True Comic waited there
With newpix left by users fair
And discussions of religious bent.

Both Times that day appeared as just.
I chose the posts that had amassed.
And in Time, I knew I surely must
Re-glimpse the Now that was discussed,
Although by then it would be Past.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere newpix and newpix hence:
Two Times diverged in a thread and I —
I chose the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Thanks, Gingercat. :)

Several UNGs have passed by, including the discovery of the ribbit. And this one, which I don't think I really noticed the first Time around:

Maybe it happened during my last move, because I seem to have been Outside according to OTT Time Travel.
I certainly would have remarked upon the close Cuegan contact involved. Image

Hi, Val. Good luck, HES.

I'm beginning to think that the current Quest is questionable. What could BraveBean's notebook contain except "squiggle squiggle squiggle"? Well, all right, Ms. Frizzle will be able to translate that to "Rusty barrels marked with a round symbol with three-fold rotational symmetry", but that's hardly worth risking three lives for.

Go home, you three! Nothing to see here. Don't look back!

Wow, that's a lot of Subliminal BatmansSB in one panel. :)

SBSubliminal Batman is a thing on Drawception, it's not just BlitzGirl who puts them in. The purpose is to include Batman so that the describer doesn't notice it and doesn't derail the game.

ETA: I'm also afraid Frizzle is sad... The question is, if they are really fast, would that be still unsafe for them? They are probably not aware of the Time variable. Maybe the radiation is not that strong (if it was too strong, it would kill them outside The Cave too) and the Beanies just stayed for too long in there.

There are two films that I particularly like.
One of them is a science-fiction dramatic comedy involving a boy who accidentally travelled in time. Extremely popular when it originally came out in 1985, it retains a major cult following to this day.
The other one, of course, is Back to the Future.

Completely unrelated, there is something terrifyingly satisfying about entering the exact balance of an account into the "amount to transfer" box.

(and many more "sorry's" from ED)
Compatibility checking is a nightmare. There are far to may browsers out there! Next someone will try to open it in Lynx. And once you fix that someone will try Links. And then someone develops a new browser that chirps other things up.
You are making an awefulsome game. You are doing it for free. There is no need to apologize for some mustard. When making hot dogs some mustard may be spilled. I am grateful that you are willing to spend so much time to make this game.

Thanks for your understanding. Henceforth I shall refer to the game as a hotdog.

I have now seen the hotdog connection, and it makes perfect sense. Before, hotdog and game were just two very different words that meant the same thing, but now the two are forever inextricably linked.

Speaking of the OTH... I spent all of my Blitzing time today playing the hotdog instead of Blitzing. As I've been reading through the updates as they've been happening, I've realized that there was a lot more to the hotdog than I had gleaned before. Like, this thing is deep. So, I molpied down on the one I had going (I don't remember what all upgrades and stats I had, but I'm fairly sure my NPBs were each making about 4k per newpix, but I didn't really have any sense of direction at that point, and I think I was at the M order of magnitude as far as castles go) and read the Wiki pages to really get started. That was yesterxip afternip, and now I have 5 rivers and a stealth streak of 24, almost to the point where 100k castles is an easily attainable number. Now that I know the pattern for how [redacted]s appear (though I know that's no longer the name, that's one term for them in the beforewhen through which I'm currently trying to Blitz), it has gotten a lot easier to build quickly. I think I should put that on hiatus for right now, though, until I have made some significant progress with my Blitz, because treeish. And seaish. And holy-hell-why-have-I-accomplished-nothing-toxip. But also quite steakish.

I was forcibly molpied up todip by an enormous explosion from outside. The first thoughts to come from my half-coma brain were "oh chirp, is it the apocalypse? CONSIDER THE NEEDLE-PULLED THINGS OF THE HILLS

Oddly enough, I've never been directly woken up by a thunderstorm that I can remember. Which is odd, since they're pretty rare events around here. Of course, most never pass within a few miles of my location.

Did you make sure it's plugged in?

...All right, I'll be around in a bit.

Blindpost Idea

Postby azule » Tue May 20, 2014 3:30 am UTC

I'm sorry that I couldn't get this posted days ago, but we still have time. Check out the idea in the middle. Feedback?

The inner... Dracomax?
The outer sounds like me but I don't use that smiley.
The smiley is telltale mscha (from the past, I think mrob might be using some now and others do here and there).

I'm not sure I'm able to plan to go to the beach any time soon. But, who knows, I might go at some last minute. Everyone willing to go whenever I do? ;)

I was thinking, in terms of syncing up timelines being hard, could we instead pick a period of the year spanning the newpixian reign (what was it? 3 or 4 mips?), and everyone can go at their lesiure (sp???) during that Time period, and when they get the photos online, they would only need to include the np that they went on, such as np1908. A newpix converter would be handy for all the heretics that would have trouble converting their local times.

Does that work better for everyone? (I would need a weather type person to figure out the best span for everyone to go comfortably to the beach/river in all hemispheres.) (Time is hard, dudes! (xudes? (heheh, sounds like nudes. (only nude toes are allowed. ;) ))))

Several search parties of increasing redundancy would be safest. Image

Sorry about lengthy mostly-absence.... hamburger has me by the throat. But here's another UNGhancement:

... and a puzzle. My previous unhancements have been smaller than this - I've right-clicked "show image" rather than clicked on the image, to copy the uploaded image. I guess that's not quite right. When I have a chance I'll puzzle it out and fix the mustard, but at least I've noticed that there's something to figure out.

I'm still ketchupping and still posting, but if anyone's interested in some fonts...then keep listening. lol.

I've kerned the xkcd font and added Beanish (but not all Beanish kerning yet). There's the WOFF (for web developers) and an OTF and TTF for regular users.

I'm planning to improve Beanish with actual diacritic function. Seems to be working...but testing is good.

Note: writing in Beanish requires using the Canadian Unicode. At some point in the future I will create a font that also uses heretical Latin, such as the "M32" I just saw posted. Wait for Corrine to Attack your empty spoiler.
