Does the one in Windows work? I never actually bothered to try in in all these years. Also I'm actually writing this while it's downloading the program, so I hope it does actually work...)

They severely underestimate this thread.

Yeah, France was my first thought too. But even if it was the right shape, which as it turned out wasn't, it would made no sense how would they know where the borders are (or what 'borders' are at all). And, of course, now that we know it's water around it, it can't be France unless something horrible with the European continent has happened. Now I'm wondering why hasn't she drawn the coastline at the bottom left corner - maybe there's no coastline and it's a peninsula?

Or just a way longer part of the island... we're north of Sardinia, in what was the Asinara National Park!

This is actually mildly amusing. In two ways even:
1. I do not think any other thread will anytime soon get more replies than the OTT. At least not in any meaningful manner.
2. 10x the vitriol of the OTT would be about ... Zero. Null. None.

Mr Moriaty wrote:Interestingly she drew the map north up. It means they must have some concept of magnetic north.

Not necessarily. They could instead have a concept of "east" and "west" based on the sun rising and setting. Alternately, north could be based on Deneb.

Wow! You found it! Well, my other guess was Corsica before I looked at the shape of it, so that's close. But it's much smaller island, this Asinara, just about 4 km wide and 16 km high. Now, why would anyone build nuclear power plant or nuclear waste disposal facility on such island, inside a national park?

SilentONGs 1233-1235:
Frizzle gathered rocks from the shore. She made a little pile with them, and then tore something, perhaps a page out of the sketchbook. She added a bit to the top of the tiny rock-cairn (a page from the sketchbook? the sketchbook itself?) and said, "Thank you," while looking down at the cairn.

Interesting quandary, AUTOMOME. Pretty much all of Time depicts Cuegan molpying about in various fashions. And the third commandment, RUN, even calls for action. However, we have long heeded the first commandment, to Wait for it, which might be interpreted as a cessation of molpying. Obviously the thing to do is first Wait, and then while in the act of Waiting also molpy about. The OTT has done a rather treeish job of this.

There is a large corridor connected to the cave; the way they are connected makes me believe the latter is only a secondary entrance. The walls are colored white, giving a sense of infinity. There are doors everywhere.

I found an unlocked door, leading to a narrow chamber. It's main features are horizontal, human-sized glass boxes; most are filled with a kind of grimy liquid, with some containing what I can only presume are… human remains.

Not one of them. I can't quite ascertain what that creature is. It looks human but… not. What I know is that it looks remarkably alive, as if only sleeping. I'll get around it, get a bett
