My unsolicited advice:
Spoiler:
Sorry to hear about the neural-net mustard. Like the others have said, it happens to the best of us, and as they haven't pointed out it often happens when we're least expecting it. I always try thinking about the good things I have but that usually just makes it worse because then I feel unworthy, go figure. If it helps, try to remember that you're not seeing clearly right now and the good is still there; if it doesn't help, just keep breathing. One inhale for each exhale, and vice versa - and if that doesn't help, pm me and shout at me for giving you advice when you didn't want it. ;)
Really important, though, is to try to remember that 1) feeling lost, under appreciated, and unnoticed is natural during transitions, especially after the huge effort you just made for your exams. Lois McMaster Bujold mentions ‘disorientation at apogee’ in Komarr, and that's part of what you're feeling. 2) Your feelings should start to improve on their own, but if they don't you should get support sooner rather than later. Sometimes all it takes is someone whose opinion you trust to tell you it's okay, and sometimes it takes a little chemical help. My mom took Prozac for 2 weeks a few months after 9/11, which was all she needed to route out her depression over the event, but something even more basic like upping your B-vitamin intake might do the trick.
Above all, be kind to yourself. Don't try too hard to feel better, just do nice things for your friend who is exhausted and feeling like he's losing his identity. You know he's still himself, he's just shedding a whole bunch of scales right now.
You'll still be you when you're done molting, just a slightly different you.

I learned long ago to avoid that submit.

I usually do a shift+TAB, which goes to the "subject" text box and I press enter. I can also press TAB instead and that will hilite the "preview" button and also press enter. That's more risky though ('cause I might press TAB twice). The other direction is fine because if I miss then nothing gets submitted (or previewed) and I try again.
I'd probably get around to doing that, but I have an MTA. And even if it had a proper keyboard, it's an Apple, so when people tell me how to do things and the instructions include right-click,

Not at all. As I've said to another supporter in PM, I wish I had more than short clichéd phrases to work with, but in English, idioms are practically atoms in and of themselves, so I must resort to simply saying "it means a lot to me."

Some coverage on the 2014 FIFA World Cup, as if there wasn't enough already. I'm not nearly as interested on it as charlie_grumbles seemed to be on TdF, but I want to at least remember the old times.
Spoiler:
  • All of the goals in the opening match were made by one of the teams. Brazil 3×1 Croatia.
  • The Oranje channeled BlitzGirl and chainsawed La Roja. Netherlands 5×1 Spain.
  • It was a bad day for Giovani dos Santos. Two of his (seemingly okay) goals were invalidated. Mexico 1×0 Cameroon.
  • Firefox 30 nuked my status bar as 29 had done. I can't seem to make it work again.
  • Currently watching Chile × Australia, the first match I'm actually paying attention to.
  • What did I just see? (about 16 minutes into the 2º set)

No.

As it turns out, the creature is indeed an human. It may not exactly look like one now, but it did, up to sometime during the War. Yes, that War, hundred years ago. I should nickname her Helper.

Speaking of which, it's a she. Speaks not only the natives' language, but the first OTTers' too. I told her all of our and my history. She didn't react as I'd have expected, promptly saying she could help.

I got her water and food and something to dry and dress with, though it's arguable she'll need the latter. I'd describe her appearance, but a drawing will do her much more justice than mere words possibly could.

She looks nice.

On the topic of gutters, here a gutter is some sort of rain guidance thing on the sides of roofs. It's very unrelated to simply saying 'guts'. Lemme look it up: 'gutter' is akin to gout in it's origin. Hah, both have bodily origin type etymologies, just different ones.
