HOW DO I THWAPPED TIMBORME?

Postby NoMouse » Mon Dec 08, 2014 10:38 pm UTC

I feel like I wasn't reading the OTT for a month but it turns out I only slipped 5 newpages into past. So either the OTT has slowed down massively or it wasn't a month.
And looking at the timestamps, the following must be true. It's probably because all the Outside things, Time is doing wibbly-wobbly stuff from a non-linear subjective viewpoint. Epsilon.

Great revelations on the t1+i! Good job, Sustainabilizer and slinches!

ETA: Oh, unexpected papacy.

Decree: Time dilation. Or contraction. Or other wibbly-wobbly stuff. Or see the subject of this message (I admit I have no idea what that means).
Time. The final frontier. These are the voyages of Cueball and Megan. Its continuing mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before.

NOBODY expects the OTT papacy! Our weapons are moloies, thwapsticks, and an almost fanatical devotion to the GLR.

For the pope: The short days of winter mess with Time dor me. It feels like it's 9 PM H at least, but it's only 5:45PM. H

The OTT is slightly slower, but it hasn't quite dropped below one post per nopix yet. There are still molpies molping in this needle-pulled grapevine!

Musing on the Decree

Postby BlitzGirl » Tue Dec 09, 2014 8:18 am UTC

This needle-pulled thing can have a significant time dilation effect between those constantly in the Now and those who pop in and out of the Present when they can - the OTT is passing differently for each group.

That's not even getting into the wibbly-wobbly behavior that is blitzing.

I recently watched the last episode of Stargate: SG1 (excluding films) for the first time. That involved lots of time dilation:
Spoiler:
Our resident OTTer DrSamCarter puts their ship in a time dilation field to stop it getting blown up by a giant Ori plasma cannon. They are then stuck inside it for the next 40 years or so before finally working out how to reverse time and stop the problem. Personally I think a much simpler option would have been to fix their shields, but there we go. Still it did mean that the characters learnt how to follow the First Commandment!

Did you blitz the show? I did in 5 wips. But I actually saw a bit of season 10 including that episode before blitzing the rest, when season 10 was new to dvd.

That would have been a short episode.

"Oh no! They're shooting a plasma cannon at us? What are we going to do?"

"Hey, everyone, I fixed the shields. We're cool now."

"Well, that was a close call!"

*everyone laughs*

The End.

I guess we see why they went for the other option.

2007-2010 I was going to school like this:
  1. by bike to the train station.
  2. by train to the city
  3. by bike to the school
Every next lesson was 55 minutes after the previous one.
Every next train was 60 minutes after the previous one.

So the later I had to be at school the less time I had to get there.

Hey all - been keeping up with the OTT lately, just had little to add37, and less time1190 in which to do so. Today's decree made me want to chime inding with oneone of my favorite paradoxes1==-1

If you have time1190, I'd recommend checking out the ladder paradox (fairly nice writeup285 on wikipedia: http://wikipedia.org/wiki/Ladder_paradox) The moral of the story - if something doesn't fit, all you need to do is shove it in fasterdirty physics.

For me, time is always relative: when I'm doing what I like, it goes far too fast, and when I'm stuck doing gruntwork, it drags forever.

I wish I had a tardis.

Uhm....
I'm not sure how that works.
Blitzing the OTT (hibernating).
Sometimes flickering into the Present.

The most recent Time Travel takes you to a really treeish page. Some good stuff there.

Is the line about the bobcat on the xkcd store banner new, or was it one of the banners from last yip?

Hm, the cooling? So there's a cooling system that's leaking? That seems not good.

You helped Addams stay in her home, and gave her a better life. She thanks you, and so do I.

What, you don't know of rabtorcats? Long tail, long ears. Very cute.

If you read this sig, post about one arbitrary thing you did today.

I celebrate up to six arbitrary things before breakfast.

Oh yes, very cute ... but insanely deadly, considering they're the unholy offspring of lucky and the rabtor of caerbannog.

ETA: Also, beware the rabtorfox.

And they have nasty, big, pointy teeth.

I know I don't spend a lot of Time in the present, but the OTT seems particularly non-raptorcattish. Maybe everyone's hunkering down for the storm we're about to have here in California. It is supposed to be particularly Zanclean.

I generally just don't have that much to say.
here in the present waiting for something that pertains to me though, and of course enjoying all that I read.
I made my avatar, Buffygirl hatted it, Yappo smileyed it and ggh taroted it!
I've changed, witnessing this thing so beautiful
