That is a non-OTT but rest-of-XKCD-forums word. It means that a thread is brought back to life after a long time of being dead (for example half a yip, as with the "Randall Munroe facts" thread).

Actually it's a rest-of-all-forums-and-forumlike-places-in-the-interwebs (well maybe not all, but certainly a lot) word.

The difference becomes explicit in the mistakes Image and Image are making:
Image knows about Unglish grammar and vocabulary. She hasn't used that language for a while and now needs to explain complicated things to those strangers. Of course her pronunciation has become rusty, and she must dig out every word from her memory.
Image knew nothing about Unglish. She spent half a night speaking to one of the Cueganites, trying to grasp the basics of that language. With a very limited vocabulary and virtually no knowledge about Unglish grammar, her descriptions of complex concepts are just wild guesses, combined with body language.
On the other hand she just learned everything from a native speaker, so her pronunciation is mostly correct, except for phonemes which aren't present in her own language, and for some subtleties in the tone.)

In my songs, when I get to the Beanies, I need a way to actually pronounce Beanish (hopefully with palatalization, because palatalization is fun).

Caprice wrote:In my songs, when I get to the Beanies, I need a way to actually pronounce Beanish (hopefully with palatalization, because palatalization is fun).
Here is a complete transcript of all dialogue/words/writing in Time. All of the Beanish is given in three formats: The Canadian Aboriginal Syllabic transcription used by @tresoldi in xes blog (for example see The corpus, upgraded), the "ASCII" or Latin-alphabet transcription based only on what the symbols look like (also called "@SinusPi transliteration"), and an English translation. Every word is there, even when it is a repeat of something just said.
@tresoldi developed and described two pronunciation schemes; the abugida-based one is illustrated in xes later blog entries. For example in this article, ᘊᒣᑦᖽᖆ is pronounced /paʧoʤada/ and ᖽᔕᐣᘖ is pronounced /ʤameba/. The sounds chosen for each symbol were picked to make it fairly pronounceable, and have nothing to do with the Canadian Aboriginal Syllabic characters. Misleadingly, on the following day @tresoldi described another system based on a simpler "alphabet" hypothesis, but called the earlier article "part 2". The alphabet system, even though described later, is the less-favoured and is not used for examples, and in fact @tresoldi notes that xe is "not satisfied with this mapping" as it makes a few words have strange or impossible pronunciations. That later article should begin with an italicised comment calling attention to these facts.
The ASCII/Latin/@SinusPi was also used for pronunciation just a little bit, for example the Beanie name "Amtoo" came literally from AM2, the @SinusPi transliteration of ᘝᘈᘖ, which is the first word in frame 2801.

My bot is using the colrm UNIX tool, which crashes with a fatal error as soon as it gets to that m*stard between the first 20150502.0230 UTC 0452 and the second 20150502.0230 UTC 0452. I'll try to fix it.

(Edit: I think I've fixed it, by bypassing colrm, and assuming that any line lacking the initial 17-character date/time can be ignored. That should work so long as I don't change my own date/time format :D )

That's so molpish!

Did you notice…
Spoiler:
… the bOTTeriada T-shirt? (I want one!)

… the road with a time portal to 1983 (at 01:06)?

… brief time-warps in the video (e.g. at 00:51)?

… that bftf panels were being drawn in some order other than "finish one row before beginning the next"?

… repositioning the characters so they don't appear to be moving while standing still and talking?

Palette #5 ?

ETA: I wonder where that botmustard comes from. The bits are shifted?

At about the time that m*stard appeared (20150502 at 0230 UTC), I was trying to make this glossary link work, and temporarily blanked out all the mr*bdex data on the first page, so the first piece of data you got would have been whatever was at the beginning of page 2. I think that's the origin of the m*stard. Obviously, I need to be able to handle my own m*stard when it gets reflected back to me by the Moonbase… but there always seem to be new types of m*stard… Image Image Image Image
Fortunately you noticed reasonably soon, thanks!

Spoiler:
The xd card in the camera is broken. Those warps appear in the places where the recordings are broken. The software managed to read the recordings but inserted wrong frames there. The camera itself was unable to continue the playback of the recordings after the first error and I was afraid that I won't be able to make this video.

Someone forgot to turn off the mustard generator.

My bot already ignores lines without the timenumber so the mustard didn't get imported to mrobdexmessage-onlytext.txt

Also, balthabots in the bOTTeriada. Now I'm waiting for the mrobots.

It could be the XD card, or maybe someone inserted your camera into other points in Time to record those frames…

Let's pretend I planned it that way  (I was also fixing the "wierd" spelling error, which is why you got that line an extra time).
