How do you propose that I could accomplish that? Even if I get a car that allows replacing the stereo, the car still has its own radios (perhaps bluetooth or CDMA or GSM or wifi) connected to the main car computer.

Why? Bluetooth connection on the car stereo rocks. The car stereo just shouldn't be connected to the car-controlling-computer.

I was referring to the article that mrob posted about Chrysler cars getting hacked. True, Chrysler had done something to make it particular easy to hack their cars, but it seemed to suggest that all cars with connectivity were vulnerable.

Forgot to say, hi, yozwa!! Hope you can stick around for a while.

Oh, image decree! Fun!
I go through a park on my diply walk/run, and one dip I found a fragment of chalk along the paved path. So I made a ten-mnp newpix on the way by!

I drew it from memory; this is the true newpix that most closely resembles it:

I came back by train.

Sustainabilizer wrote:I always misread the (German version of the) title of the second one as “How To Protect Your Private Data Against Windows 10”. Fortunately that's easy for me, as I don't intend to use Windows 10 (or any other non-free software, for that matter).

From what I heard even if you don't you have to protect not your data directly but your wireless network against Win10. If someone with win10 uses your wifi, the password to it is automatically shared with their "friends".

I only used Windows 3.11 (not very much, but on win3.11 I made my first drawing of kxa in 2010), 98SE, and XP.
I saw 95, 2000, Vista, 7 and 8 on other's computers.
10 never.

Now on my "new" time accessor I try to use Debian as the primary OS (the botcastle has Cubian which is a port of Debian so I was already somehow familiar with it). I'm not used to it yet.

Sorry. My wording sucked. I intended to say that a smart car manufacturer wouldn't connect the entertainment system to the ECU. I didn't mean to say that the user can change anything about this.

Nor am I saying that there is such a thing as a smart car manufacturer, except for Daimler AG in another context.
