Hi! :D

It's possible that these ONGs are *too* good... I end up just sitting in quiet awe and letting the bots do the work.

I do wish the book tour and I were able to overlap, but that seems highly unlikely.

Sorry the bots had to work so hard yesterdip.

The change of view in the ONGs is wow! I was wondering why the hidden images were so dark, and then when I saw this new view, I thought the coloring looked almost like it might be a negative. So, I made a negative of the remapt version of np 60:

Not too much to see really in the first one:
Spoiler:
Image

I didn't really see much at first in the second image:
Spoiler:
Image
But then I noticed two things:
Shouldn't those supports on the bridge have some sort of crossbeam they're attached to on top?
What is that light area in the left side of the image? It looks like the sun coming up.

In the non-negative version of 60, those white lights could be headlights, maybe. There look to be a few more along the "road."

Hmm.

This is what the thread looks like when you're browsing without images (for reasons of HFFS Stealth)
Spoiler:

And here is how much of that is useful text
Spoiler:

Now, obviously an image based story isn't going to work without the images. But a bit less of the bot fill would make it easier to skip to the actual conversation, and the images can be ketchupped later.

These new ongs are rather impressive. Someone built a 3D model of a city and bridge across the straight of Gibraltar and then embedded that within Time style drawings to tell two story lines simultaneously within a single frame. Awesomeful is insufficient.

The Creator(s) of the new Ongs are really re imagining the medium. Telling two stories at once, relying on the readers to figure it out.

This is as awesome as the original comic, at least at a conceptual level.

Very true. So creative.

Those light spots on the "road" look like headlights. And that looks like a forest on the other side of the bridge. Maybe it is a forest, but there was a fire and all that's left are the burned and branchless trunks?

ETA is that dark rise on the left of the picture just a hill in the background? (The area that looks like a sunrise in the negative I posted up above.)

It does look like a negative sunrise. They must have stars that suck in light rather than sending it out in that universe. Weird.

I think a band called Soundgarden may have written song about such an occurrence.

So... a sunset? Or a moonrise?

I'll go with the latter, since the awesomefulness of the dual story - embedded images was first seen in the LEML.

And yes, it's a seaishly baobabish conceptual expansion. I never cease to be amazed at the creative wherewithal in this group!

Using real photos as part of a frame (like this tree) is something that SilentTimer did in t1i.
But I think that if SilentTimer was drawing it there would be more molpies.

Why?

Maybe creating color images is enough work as it is. Or maybe it's to prepare for the right. I mean... future.

I wonder what the seaishocity of this bridge is. Must be high based on the approach images, but there's no sense of scale yet in the subONGs.

Hello again OTTers!

In the Submeme userscript, AluisioASG wrote:heymrob: can we have a maxlength param?
Certainly! (and sorry for the delayed response, I have bots that are supposed to be noticing questions that are encoded in HTTP GET requests, but they're all out looking for dracomolps right now :D )

A mr*bdex ONG every 8 days?

Yeah, writer's block… plus altering the add-on molpies in minetest… and huntingH dragons, or something :?
As @balthasar_s pointed out, the ONG frequency decreased, and the reason for that is that the bot generating the ONGs doesn't have much material left and is trying to stretch it out until I get around to figuring out what Mrorl and Balthacarius are doing next.

My sieves caught another spam mail sent via the chirpingmustard mailing list. Since our individual emails seem to be ok, can we combat this by switching the "all OTTers" list to a different name?

This place really is awesomeful. My Outside FFS has involved large amounts of mustard and has stolen almost all my Time, and yet when I find a spare micronewpix to come to the OTT, its denizens reward my visit with wonderful wit, wimsy, warmth, and a wealth of wowterfulishness. I am thankful for OTTers' generous creativity in sharing so much that is flutterbeewingish, from new stories with mystery and clevernesses, to OTTifications, and to just general warm-fuzziness; it makes my day just a little more dunejumpish.

Auto-leveled animation of the first 8 “bridge” frames.

We're rotating, and climbed to get onto the bridge, but we haven't moved any closer to the spires.

Thanks! Hope the reduced number and size of requests makes up for it.

Obviously someotter's being unmolpish at the Outside.

I'd rather (or also) replace it with proper mailing list software (right now it's just a list of emails to forward to), but I have no experience in the field.
I wonder if bots have trouble with special characters in emails.

So, in case you hadn't already looked it up, this city is in the location of current day Tarifa, population about 18,000. Obviously, being at one end of an intercontinental bridge has helped its commerce a bit.
