No, Philae wouldn't say that. Philae is the lander, getting a comet for earth.

Of course, transportation may be a problem.

But if we got those landing thrusters working...

Not quite all - the whales are calm. Despite an appreciable brief moment of panic they knew we had it in us.

Next step for scientists: figure out how to make a harpoon with a 500,000km rope, and the wheel device to wheel the harpoon back in.

Well, If they can do that and not have it snap, It isn't that far to space elevators, so I'm thinking we should support them in that endeavor.

Edit: And then maybe we can retrieve curiosity as well.

Excuse me but why does it say "U.S. Scientists: Proud" when this is the EUROPEAN SPACE AGENCY's achievement? What about EUROPEAN scientists...?

It's a well-kept secret that all European scientists are the whales. They wanted other countries to see what else you could harpoon.

What, they can't be proud of their ESA counterparts?

Also: http://rosetta.jpl.nasa.gov/mission-facts/nasas-role
NASA has been involved with this international mission since 1995.

NASA contributed three instruments (ALICE, MIRO, and IES) to Rosetta, and part of the electronics package for the Double Focusing Mass Spectrometer, one of two detectors on the Swiss ROSINA instrument. NASA is also providing science investigators for selected non-U.S. instruments. In all, NASA is involved to a greater or lesser degree in ALICE, MIRO, IES, OSIRIS, Radio Science, ROSINA, and VIRTIS experiments. NASA's Deep Space Network provides support for ESA's Ground Station Network used in spacecraft tracking and navigation.

They could have started with Dolphins. or maybe large non-aquatic mammals. space is a lot harder to swim to.

The Comet Catchers and the Harpoons of Hope

Seriously. The elements like a 10-year mission, last minute complications, a successful mission and the whole world (*internet) celebrating at the end, all could add up to a blockbuster.
